"Airstream Life" fall 05.....in a mailbox near you?
hi folks
air life fall/05 arrived today. are you still waiting to subscribe?
get with it.
another nice product.
clearly thicker.....up to 80 pages. they've changed the binding from fold/staple to block/glued with a endplate. this was probably necessary for the thicker edition.
nice cover....fall colors, traditional wally circle, and artwork that reminds me of the new yorker or the atlantic magizine....very cool.
LOTS of info inside....with big pieces on travel thems...vintage rallies, bridges, home schooling, the natchez trace, solar power, and the weirdos in austin.
shorter pieces on dicky's flying cloud, women with power tools, wrecking an airstream and mobile audio technology.
i really like the pieces on the oshkosh air show and austin....i'm heading there soon.
the most details we've seen about the airstream base camp....lots of design revealed and for those that didn't know the historical connection to the early wally do-it-yourself kits....it's revealed here.
a teaser on the 75th anniversary model, which will be too small for me but hits the high production/high profit/high trade up segment. and the interior will be done by someone other than ccd.....THANK GOODNESS.
and the end of vintage thunder?????
what will replace it and will there be a new tow vehicle too?
hope everyone gets a chance to read this new slick mag that looks more and more like the defacto publication for airstream users/inc/dealers and any vendor smart enough to get on board....
hope rich gets orders for boxes of this edition from every dealer out there...
i'll keep mine, thank you.
cheers

Another great job!!!
Everytime I get an issue, I feel like I'm sitting down with old friends, and some new ones too.
Yeah... women with power tools... great article, eljay.
I will read and re-read all the articles. Another good one, Rich!!! Keep 'em coming!

Hate to inject a sour note on an otherwise fine publication, but articles on travel, bridges, home schooling etc. belong elsewhere.

Got mine last week. I've enjoyed it so far, but I haven't finished it yet. The extra pix of the Base Camp gave me a better insight to it's versatility and appeal to a large demographic.

I really like the ebay insights. It has helped me so much when I look at buying anything on ebay. The "Women With Power Tools" gave me a chance to put faces with my forum friends. Such a great magazine for us Airstreamers; however, how about more Argosy info.. Underneath that cream is an Airstream that you don't have to worry about polishing.

I just got mine - COOOL! Thanks, Eljay, what a hoot to be in a national mag
After seeing the basecamp details, I think the WBCCI is really missing out by excluding them. That looks like it could be a real hit with 'campers'.
This mag just gets better every issue. They are really doing a fantastic job!

I am not a member of the WBCCI yet so I haven't chimed in on the Basecamp admission to the WBCCI before, but " just between us girls" it seems to me that if it's an Airstream it's an Airstream and they should be allowed to join. Afterall, it is a travel trailer made of aluminum produced by Airstream and branded by Airstream. No different than an Airstream Landyatch motorhome or Airstream diesel pusher. I know it took a while for them to be accepted, too.

The BaseCamp is not for sale as yet, therefore they cannot be excluded from membership. When they go on sale a decision will be made as to whether or not ownership of a BaseCamp is eligible for sale.

Great issue, read cover to cover by both of us. There are getting better ever issue.
We especially enjoyed the homeschool article, as we home school our girls.

Yeah! Got it today! Way to go Stef! Women with tools are cool. Also cool to see one of my favorite recording artists/story tellers sharing his story.
