It was filmed on location in Austin Texas, They used several AS for the movie, one of them was cut in half from front to back, made wider then mounted on a trailer and towed around. The reason I know this is because back then I was working motorcycle patrol and was lucky to work traffic/escort for a number of those scenes. Best part of the movie was eating lunch with Clint Eastwood, on the front lawn of the State Capitol. Eastwood was very nice to me and the other motor officers assigned to escort the trailer and movie trucks through the streets that week. I think that they used three different AS's for the movie.
