lock replacement

Help please!

I need to replace part of the lock on my 1975 Sovereign (31').

Not really sure what part I should be looking for -- what it might look like or be called. Can anyone provide a photo reference of a working lock, or advise me on what part I should look for -- its size and name?

Here's a front view of the lock and a side view. The last owner attached a padlock as a temporary fix, which explains what's below the black thing on the front view.

Thank you so much! Going to pick it up in a few weeks. Would love to have a lock ordered in advance so I can install it right away and keep 'er safe!

More photos if you'd like to see the whole trailer. Can't wait to start working on it! Airstream - a set on Flickr

Open your wallet wide.....

The lock and also an exploded view of parts that are available:

Airstream Door Lock 70-77 380193 [380193] - $469.95 : Out-of-Doors Mart!, More Airstream Parts on-line than anyone!

Also sold here. If you look around on this site Inland also carries a lower cost replacement but it requires some modification of the door:

Inland RV Center Inc.

Welcome to AirForums...!!

Looks like all you need is a tumbler.

On the 73 my parents had my brother and I put a standard deadbolt in, main part of it in wall and bolt going into door. It's a bit of modifying but more secure then a lock that has the same key as hundreds of other trailers.
