Incorrect VIN
Interesting... Going by the photos I found on another site, my trailer is a '74 model. The title calls it a '75, but the couch/tambour cabinet and 3 closets seem to place it as a 74.

So I'm a '74 sovereign owner.

You're not alone my vin shows 2000, pictures of others, make it a
1999, chassis has a tag showing build in 98 and chevy called
it a 99. Every manufacturer had the same way of moving stock. But in the long haul it is only important to know for replacement parts.
One other place of importance is that the insurance co. will use vin for replacement value.

There are a couple of possibilities, it may be a year end model that wasn't sold and titled until the following year, or someone may have made an error when they issued the title. I had an issue with my 1996 F350 when they issued the title in 2006, they had it listed as a gasser not a diesel, huge difference when it came to inspection time. Took me better part of a couple of days to get it straightened out, all because someone wasn't paying attention when they entered the information. In some states trailers are titled differently from cars, they are titled in the year they are sold, not manufactured. Get us a VIN and it can be decoded for you very quickly...by anybody that has the secret decoder ring.

The vin number, I have. I don't have it handy right now, but the data plate on the trailer shows a build date of 10-74.
VIN is I31A5J1883. From what I've read online in the last few days, that translates to a 31ft center bath, twin bed International built at Jackson in 75.

Mine is a 1976 with a 12/75 build date. This is common with many manufacturers. I remember buying a 1996 Harley-Davidson in August of 1995.
Go by the VIN date which looks to be a 75.
Regards,
Kevin

Sounds reasonable. According to the factory literature for that year (available as a PDF, showing the fleet floorplans) though, the layout of my unit doesn't exist. I'd have to guess that it was built before the new model year floorplans were firmed up, since it matches exactly the photos shown for the 74.
I don't care what the title says one way or another, I'm more concerned with getting the proper reference materials.

Not exactly.
RV's are dated like cars.
The next years production models start in summer to late summer.
As in your case, your 75 was actually built in October of 1974, in Jackson Center.

I had a problem with my Vin as well, It started with a "one", not so when I got it inspected, it is a "I" eye. Nice inspector changed it, as title was out of state..whew. However noticed on AS ads they all say ONE
