Floor repair

I have a rear bedroom model with a full bed. I took out the bed to squeeze in an RV Queen bed. In the rear corner I found a circuit breaker panel and a water line and a funny looking fan. The water line and some wires run across the floor all the way to the galley next to the refrigerator where they disappear underneath the floor.

Does anyone know what this is about and is this factory or Prior Owner modification?


Oh by the way, I have the dreaded floor rot and leaks. I just picked up my "in great shape" vintage Sovereign! I forsee plumbing, electrical, sheet metal, and carpetry work in my near future.

Hmm... Looks a lot like mine, but I have rear bath... Wouldn't expect to see that in a rear bed area.

The oh so common bumper leak. If you clean out the wood from the channel you will find daylight. Working on my 74 as we speak.

Looks like Bubba installed the fan to try to dry out the wood, since he couldn't fix the leak.

The electric box and plumbing is all OEM installed. The fan appears to be after-market installed. I don't have a guess what the wire is. The answer will be decided by what the wires are attached to. There are tank sensor wires going through the floor under (the former location of) the street side bed on my trailer.

The floor is an easy fix, just remove the lower inside skin, remove the old wood floor, install new wood floor, put it back together . . . oh . . . fix the leaks.

If that rotted wood area is in the back corners of your Sovereign, check to see if there is caulking around your tail light bezels. I have my inside skins off back there and water pours in from the lights making the floor look just like yours. Welcome to our nightmare!

Thank you to all for the inputs. I will definitely check the tail llights as well. I know that the stoarge hatch needs fixing. I suspect that this is death from a thousand mosquito bites and I will have to seal just about anything that looks suspicious.

I plan to remove the pipe and wiring and re-route either behind the inner skin or under the floor. Is there a reason that the pipe was placed in the bedroom instead of under the frame? Is it because of freeze concerns? I plan to replace with PEX.

It is the support to a full size bed which also doubles as 4 storage coompartments. I ripped out the bed and don't intent to put it back. It came with 4 bins that I plan to reuse. The access was through 5 tambor doors which I plan to reuse.
