1975 Sovereign International Rebuild

Hello fellow Airstreamers!
My husband and I are going to do a complete shell off restoration. We have gutted our trailer and are now about to remove the shell.
I want to ask a C channel question. Should there be C channel at the front and back of our trailer? It is not currently on our trailer.
Thanks!

The front and rear have different mounting styles than the sides. There is a c channel sitting on the floor open up, but tucked between that channel and the skin there is another plate. In the front it's steel and is welded to the frame. in the rear it's just an aluminum angle bolted down. On the sides it has the F channel style that fits over the plywood.

this is how it was on my 72/73 trailer.

It's done. I mean mostly. It works anyway.

Sounds like a plan. The steel hold down plate in front is important IMO. Not sure how the 70’s were constructed, but adding strength is not a bad idea. When time allows, post pictures so we can enjoy your progress. Good luck
