1981 airstreams are pretty rare, at that time they were transitioning from Beatrice foods to the Thor industries... to me it looks like they were using up all the old pieces and parts to put airstreams together, and my owners manual for my 20 footer is dated 1980 with the supplement of 81 so they didn't bother to make a owners manual for 81. 1982 I believe the body style changed when Thor industries started manufacturing in Ohio also around 79/80 I believe is when the last of the airstreams were built in California so I believe that mine is one of the last to be built in California
