1972 International ?

Ok, at first inspection I thought it was an 1972 Ambassador, then I realized that someone placed the Ambassador plate on the skin, possibly as a souvenir, looking things over, it definatly has the bigger more origianl plate that says International, but I also see another small plate that looks very original, it says Land Yacht, I also have all the 1973 Airstream service Manuals,and everything in the manuals looks like my rig, land yachts and Internationals, also the plate on the Airstream says manufactor date of 11/1972, so should I call it a 1972 International Land Yacht

If it's 29' long, then it's an Ambassador. Land Yacht is the generic name for coaches of that era, and International is a trim level, or package. At least that is my story and I'm sticking to it.

If it was built 11/72, I would bet that it is a 1973 model. International is an upgraded trim level of the Land Yacht line, but neither is the model. In the 70's the model was based on the size of the unit. If you post the VIN of the trailer it will be very easy to figure out what you have and where it was made.

Here we go...
1 = International trim
29 = Ambassador (29' from ball to bumper)
B = Center bath / Double bed
3 = 1973
J = Jackson Center, Ohio
2801 = sequence number

Just refer to it as a 73 Ambassador and most of us will know what you have. I suspect that a very large percentage of the trailers built in the 70's were of the International trim level. The ones that aren't are the rarities.
