25' With rear corner bed

It turns out that there are at least three of us on the forum with 1985 Sovereign 25' coaches WITH the side bath and corner full bed. This discovery inspired me to take the camera out and get some more photos of this somewhat rare floorplan, as well as some of the upgrades I have made.

See all my photos at http://www.airforums.com/photo...500&ppuser=139

Can you relate any personal experience...?

I want to extract the forward salon plastic monitor panel to check the wiring & bulbs behind. (you know tank level indicators, etc.)

Have you ever pulled yours? What holds the unit in?

The last thing I want to do is damage it.

By-the-way ... do you have original hubcaps on the wheels? I think I found a couple spares to buy.

Front control panel

In our 1984 31' excella, the front control panel is held in with spring clips. I just pry one side out and pull.

And pull HARD! I did take mine out to do the repair work on the end cap. You do not want to pry against the plastic cap - that is a good way to break it. You somehow have to get hold of it and pull straight out.

In re: hubcaps. Mine has the optional alloy wheels.

Mark, "Safe Harbor" looks grand, and reflects lots of work and planning. We especially enjoyed your daughter's oil portrait of you and the Airstream. Must have made you proud

Hopefully I am one of the others. Interesting that you sleep with your head forward. We sleep heads aft so I can have a little extra length along the center isle (6'4").

This is a great floorplan.

Photo's Finally Posted

Well I struggled quite a bit, but I got some photo's of our '85 25' Sovereign (w/ Corner Bed) posted in the Photo Gallery. I had some trouble, so it seems that only the exterior shots now show up in the "80's Photo's" section. I can't seem to copy them over. Oh well, you can always see them in my 66Overlander Gallery.

Need Photo Help!

Yesterday after much effort I uploaded about 7 or 8 photo's to my Photo Gallery. I was only able to get 2 of them to show up in the "80's Trailers" section. Today, there are only 3 photo's in my Gallery, but four of my photos are showing up in the "80's Trailers" section. What is going on???

Help!

When I click on the option to see your photos I get three images. When viewing any one of those photos there is an option to "See all of 66Overlanders photos" This gets me a preview of seven photos, all of your new '85. When I choose the option "View 66Overlander's Photo Gallery" I get an error.

The photos bring back memories. Mine looked so much like that - except dirtier and more worn.

Looking at each of your photo galleries has my mouth watering again. You can now add me to the list of those having a mid 80's side bath corner bed unit, this one in the 1986 persuasion. It will be March 30 before I can pick her up. I guess I will have to call her "Chicken Coop II" after my first Excella which sits in my back yard now.

Good heavens, another one! We could have our own rally! Complete with songfest around the campfire: "Brighten the Corner Where You Are", "In My Own Little Corner", "Standing on the Corner (Watching All The Girls)", and many more.

Imagine the possibilities: laughing at people without bedroom drawer space; sneering at owners of larger coaches with galley counter space; casual mentions of how we "must have left" this or that "in our OTHER closet".

Mark,
Not to hijack this glorious "corner bed" thread, how are you handling the single battery issue or have you added another battery? My '77 Excella has 2 battery compartments and I see that my new, to me, Sovereign has only one battery compartment in front on the curb side? I'm already using a 5 watt Solargizer solar panel for charging as well as a 25 watt panel.

Mine has two compartments. I suspect the simplest solution would be to install a sealed battery behind the couch where the other compartment would be.

Or, Craig, you could do what I did, and fit a second box and frame from a suitable Airstream from a salvage yard. $40 IIRC. I'm also a member of the elite RCBS (Rear Corner Bed Squad), who has too much storage space! Nick.

Nick,
I've thought about doing that but I guess I will see how things work out for awhile. If the battery that comes with the trailer conks out then I might order 2 Delco Voyager Maintenance Free batteries just like what I have in my 31' Excella but mount one under the couch for the time being. It sure would be nice to have 2 battery compartment door however.

Photo Frustrations

Well, it bothered me that some of my photo's weren't behaving properly. By this, I mean that a few days ago I uploaded seven photo's, but you could only see three in "my Gallery", or your could see four of them in the "1980's Trailer's" section, but if you clicked on the link to "See all of 66Overlander's Photo's", you could see all seven of them (but they apparently weren't all in "my Gallery?). Explain that.

Anyway, I decided to try to upload the missing four photo's back to "my Gallery" and found that the upload page works differently than a few days ago. But in any case, all seven now show up in "my Gallery". Still only four in the "1980's Trailer's" section, but now there are eleven (four duplicates) in "View all of 66Overlander's Photo's".

But now it gets really weird. In the four duplicates, I didn't remember the titles and decriptions excatly, so there are small differences. The "new" descriptions are now displayed for the photo's with the "old" titles and vice versa! How can this be? And once uploaded, the system will not let me edit any information about the photo's - I says I don't have permission.

I think there is a ghost in the machine. If this message gets lost in this link, I may have to start a new one with a more appropriate title to get the moderators attention. Maybe they can help.

In any case, it's now easier to see a few of my RCBS photo's (see nickcrowhurst's post above for definition), should anyone have the desire (just click on my "name" over on the left and select "Visit 66Overlanders Photo Gallery). And thanks for reading this.
