Sears stocking RV supplies, parts and gear?!

I was looking for batteries and though this is new to me, maybe it might be to you. Sears carries RV appliances, supplies and parts?!

RV Parts, RV Accessories & RV Gear at Sears.com

Anyone buy RV gear from them? Good exp? Bad?

Rant Alert!

We have had so many negative experiences at Sears, I would avoid them unless they were the only place in town. Of course, they might be the way RV stores are closing. I keep wondering when I'll read about Sears filing bankruptcy. This is sad to me because years ago Sears was a good chain and you could trust them. The old Sears is long gone and is missed.

Rant over. Thanks for the information. It could be useful.

Yea, I know what you mean. I've even had a few Craftsman tool issues they basically said, not covered, which was NEVER the case in the past....

I'm happy with Sears in Canada. They even make follow up phone calls to ask if one is happy with a purchase made. They did this for a Craftsman drill that I bought as well as for a Kenmore dryer. Approximately one year after each purchase, I received a phone call asking if I had any complaints or issues with my purchase. I've never had any store do that before.

To the original question, I wasn't aware they sold RV supplies. I wonder if they do this at the Canadian stores as well? I've not noticed but will look into it.

I forgot, Sears Canada no longer has an automotive component to it.

One of my personal failures............

Sears Holdings, Inc. is the parent company for Kmart and Sears Roebuck, and Co. Three divisions: Kmart, Sears Domestic, and Sears Canada. Chairman of the Board/Director is Edward S. (Eddie) Lampert and was a rising star at Goldman Sachs in the late 80's. Eddie is a billionaire x several from money made in hedge funds.

I thought that he would turn the Sears/Kmart deal into something and it did not turn around. I've learned my lesson w/ retailers and wouldn't own another one at gunpoint. Wanna hear about Home Depot? No? I guess not.

Sears Holdings is another large company (337,000 employees) that was not doing well before the "crisis" and I fear for its safety after the holidays. Decent balance sheet but few retailers can safely stand a really bad holiday season at this point.

Apparently, the recession has not hit WalMart. I drove by one on the way elsewhere this morning and the lot was packed, traffic backed up onto the surface streets, and city police trying to keep the traffic moving.

I just have searched the Sears website for the RV parts/accessories.

They offer frigs, water heaters, furnaces, and some parts.

I am surprised Sears has gone this route. Why?

So far, it is not that large of selection.

Still makes me wonder, Hum

We won't buy Sears again - they don't stand behind their products - K-mart is a mess to - Walmart does well because its run well... It's too bad - I used to love Sears.

It would seem to me that most of the RV offerings are online and not in the store. I was there today picking up the batteries I was looking for and took a peek. Nowhere near what is on the website. I too was blown away when I saw Atwood furnaces, waterheaters, Camco accessories, etc. It was like a mini Camping World.

I too stay away from Sears. I bought a 3 ton "capacity" floor jack that leaks like a sieve.....started leaking the day the guarantee expired. It was made in China.

Washing machine

We bought a front loading energy star Kenmore washing maching at Sears....a couple of months past the 1 year warranty it had a hole in the rubber like drum (hope that is what it is called) and it was leaking. The cost of the repair was going to be more than purchasing a new machine.....I think not....never again. pj
