New Xantrex Converter/Charger

We now carry Xantrex. The XADC converter is available in 40, 60, and 80 amp models and can be configured as a deck mount or with the integrated power center that fits the same standard opening as the Parallax 7300. Also includes Power Factor Corrected charging.

Xantrex XADC Converter/Charger

We also have their inverters, inverter/chargers, battery monitors (XBM) and more.

Do you recommend it over any other brands on your website? The WFCO unit you sold me, with its three-stage charging, seems to be the cat's meow for what I need a converter to do.

Should I consider asking for a new Christmas present?

Tom

Funny Tom, wasn't that WFCO under your tree in 05 if I remember?
I honestly try not to recommend one over the other because they all do essentially the same. Convert AC to DC. I got beat up a little last summer with Inteli-Power but this year they are holding their own for the most part. Then there are what I call marketing accessories that the manufactures use to promote the product. Just like the Paramode has temp compensation. Do you need it, maybe maybe not but it sure can't hurt and will make your batteries last longer and naturally cost a little more. When we introduced the WFCO a few years ago, it took off and quickly became the number one converter in the industry and still is by far. I wouldn't change it unless you decided the features on the newer units made it worth it. Some like the Inteli-Power, some the Parallax and some even don't mind unregulated single voltage output units like the Univolt.
I guess what I'm saying is there are choices but I have confidence in all of them because I have to warrant them.
The XADC is new but the company and reputation speaks for itself. They know what they are doing at Xantrex.

Good memory

Yes, that was me. As I recall, you responded to my PM on Christmas day when it appeared a part was missing (there was not anything missing).

The Xantrex appears to be a fine converter. But between the facts that my wife has nixed boondocking for the time being and I have not added water to my battery since the WFCO unit was installed, I think I will ask for something else this Christmas.

Thanks,
Tom

She must be obeyed but you could ask for a boondocking voucher for Christmas. Tell her we need to exercise the systems without shore power so they will last longer. Doesn't make much sense but what the hell, sounds good.

Something I forgot to mention. The Xantrex comes in a hard wire configuration so there is no reason to chop the power cord when replacing a hard wired Univolt.
