New LED light kit with sealed lights

We have a new LED light kit for the 4.25 Monarch.

This kits has the Stop Tail And Turn lights and the back up light. It takes about 10 mins to install.

These are sealed lights that fits where the bulb goes.

To install you take your 4 screws out to take the lens off, take the bulb out, insert the pig tail from the LED into the bulb socket, align the grove on the LED with the bulb socket (pictured above), place the spacer around the LED (pictured below)

Then place your Lens over both the spacer and LED light. Repeat for the other 5 light. That is 10 minutes for all 6 lights.

It works great, and gives much more light than the bulbs.

Dan - ran across those when I was ordering some gaskets this morning. Looks like a great product and really easy to install....

Dan,

Any concerns with the TS flasher.

Thinking of switching to LED's on our Classic trlr.

Dan: I see on these new kits you have the LED's now rated up to 24Volt.

Can you confirm this as the previous products were only rated up to 14V and I had a concern as my rear lamps work off a relay directly to the battery that receives more than 14v under charging.

Thanks

Dave

Those look like they could work for my '79 Argosy!
How would I know for sure?

Bob,
No problems with the turn signals. It has enough power draw to make the flasher work built into the LED lights.

I would keep those pads on there. If you pry them off, they may break.

Dave there is no concern that these LED lights will pull more power to be a concern.

I took some pictures as I think it is a good question. I made them small so it won't take so long to load into your browser.

I don't think there will be many in this forum who will be using 24 volts and when an Airstream is using the Stop Tail and Turn it is running off the alternator which is suppose to be 13.4VDC

This first pic is the Turn signal at 13.4 VDC and it pulls .32 amps which is 320 milliamps.

This next one is at 24 VDC. It pulls .17 amps which is 170 milliamps.

The power draw for the running lights is the same for the 24 or 13.4 VDC. It is .03 amps which is 30 milliamps.

When the running lights are on, and the Turn or Brakes are applied there is no measurable power draw added.
I'm not sure how your system works but I think this is enough info to let you know what you were after

Looks like a 'friendly' solution to brighter rear LED lights!

Question - are those circuit boards epoxy coated to be protected from the moisture that will inevitably find it's way behind the units?

Yes it is an epoxy in the back and completely sealed . I have used the word sealed to get away from too much tech talk. The 1156 and 1157 sockets at the end of the pigtails are also sealed with silicon.

Vicki,
There are a few different tail light set ups for the Argosy's and what I came up with is " if your unit looks this, it will work." The Argosy pic at the bottom was from a 7.3 Minuet.

I'm think that there was a few more Argosy tail light set-ups that used the same can and 4.25 Monarch Lens. Pictured below. If this is the case, this kit will work for you.

Thanks to Out-of-Doors Mart for use of their pic.

This is the 4.25 Monarch Lens, which is now made by Grote. 90742

I ordered a set from Dan yesterday. As usual great service and fast shipping. I should have them installed before our planned trip to Assateague Island next weekend. I did a similar conversion on my previous Jayco Kiwi hybrid. WOW WOW what a difference over the wimpy 1157 bulbs. If these come anywhere close I will be very pleased and will highly recommend the change. We'll see how it works out.

If your looking into getting this kit and have a 1975 or 76 you need to check your sockets. Airstream put an single contact (1156 style) bulb as a Stop and turn light. We do have a fix for that which is LED-kit7 . That would be 4 -1156 and 2-1157 sockets.
It would be best to look at your tail light bulbs if your unit is a 75 or 76 in either the Argosy or Airstream. You would be looking to see if you have 2 or 4 single contact bulbs. If you have 4 single contact bulbs you will need the LED-kit7

I see from the video that you are to reuse your old gasket. Where do you get a new gasket if your old one is bad?
