Need A SHINE?? Meet the Shine King!!!
Our 66 A.S. like so many other older A.S.'s is in need of a polish. I like alot of other A.S. forum members work alot of long hours on my job. Airstreamcaraval had mentioned on a few previous posts that he would like to polish A.S.'s as a side job. I gave Dave a call & last nite he came over to my place & polished a small area of my Airstream to show us it's potential.......WOW!! Dave really knows his stuff & in just a short time our baby looked like new. We are really impressed with Daves knowledge of A.S.'s & his knowledge of polishing Airstreams. Silvertwinkie was a witness to this display & I'm sure he will back me up on that statement. Dave will be polishing the entire trailer in the coming week & I will post Pictures.
We hope Dave will not be offended ..but we have to tell everyone-that if you need your Airstream polished give Dave a call-P.M. him- but get a hold of him because he knows his stuff & did a great job! Just look at his own trailer! Thanks for listening..Thanks DAVE.

It was very amazing! The trailer had a good amount of oxidation. The trailer just looked silver. When Dave was done with the test section, it was a mirror. Not like a mirror, not close to a mirror, a mirror! It reflected that well! The trailer was totally transformed. It felt like an infomercial. I could not believe that under that silver was such a reflective surface. For those of you who have done this before, this is nothing new, but for those that have not done this or are on the ropes, it is BREATHTAKING how cool it looks polished!
If I had a trailer that could get that kind of shine, I'd surely have it done, even if I had to save some $$$ to get it done. It was that breathtaking.
At any rate, I can easily recommend Dave. He does a fantasitc job and has a very BIG attention to detail work ethic.
You WILL be statisfied!
The only thing you need to know up front is that Dave is not a body man. Deep scratches may not come out during the process. Also, when the trailer is oxidized, you may not see small dents, etc. When the oxidation is removed some hidden dents may show up that were always there, but hidden under years of oxidation.
Still, it was neat to see a master at work!

I am sure the fee depends on the size of the trailer. I don't know what the going fee is myself since I wouldn't get the benefit of polishing (because I have a 2003), so I didn't ask, but Joel is right, PM Dave with your specific info and I am sure he'd come up with a cost.

Just got back from Joe's!! (Chitownairstreamers)
Spent 8 hours working on Joe's 66 Safari.
Got the clear coat off one side and completed the first grade of polish on about 75% of that side ....
Pictures will post to this thread shortly ....
And barring a "regular" job soon ... I am interested in polishing your trailer!!

Make the trip!
Well, the general idea is that I will come to your trailer,
Where ever that maybe, and do the work at YOUR site.
See previous thread http://www.airforums.com/forum...&threadid=3812
If I don't get a job today (should hear today) I WILL be available
in August.
PM me
Dave

Wow! I posted a bunch of things on what I saw, but the pics that Dave posted are worth more than a thousand words!
Dave, it looks like if the job doesn't come through, you got yourself a gig just the same!

I'll pass this info on...
My friend (screen name: boltos on this forum) is the one with the Airstream. He has a 1970 23' Safari. He left this morning with it for its first trip, to the super-bike races in Ohio (just north of Columbus, I think) and won't be back until Sunday.
I know he wants to get his polished. Whether he plans to do it himself, look to have it done, or what, I'm not sure.
It wouldn't hurt for him to at least get a quote from you and I'm sure he will, when he returns.

We are very happy with the progress thus far. I have many pictures of the process, but I am having a problem with my software at the moment & will try to get these pics to Eric or Dave to post. It looks great , & DAVE works his A** off - like the trailer was his own.

incredible !!!
i supose than Dave'll not come to FRANCE, to polish my 27'...
What kind of polish, has he used for that work ?
The classic one or the famous SS , so much spoken in different threads before...
Can Dave estimate the cost in polish product ? I project to try to do that next year.
Thank you, congratulations for the work and his result !
