Lock out kits

Christmas is over, but, your bad luck may still be around.

As a reminder, since Airstream still has failed to remedy the problem of the entrance door locking, when the door is slammed, an easy solution is free.

We still have many of the lock out kits on hand, that are FREE. Just send us your request for that kit, with a SASE that has 2 stamps on it.

The kit even comes with instructions.

After you install the kit, your "oh me, now what" words, can be forgotten.

Ask those that have installed the kit.

Andy

Hi Andy,

Please remind us which years this is a problem. I don't think this applies to my '71, does it?

On 2000 MH you can be locked in or out, screen door has catch that traps sliding access door from inside, to be locked outside you inadverdently lift the lock knob as you get out, you will need key to get back in. Sliding door can be fixed by cutting off or filing down plastic catch.

Chris.

Your safe.

This ridiculous problem, only applies to about the last 5 or 6 years of trailers.

Modern technology, you know.

Thumbs up 06 Safari Lockout!

You're right Andy! We make it a point to keep a key somewhere OUTSIDE the camper or in a pocket. With 2 teenagers and many of their friends going in and out...ours has locked itself many times.

I'll be sending a SASE.

Thanks
Matt

Shane.

All you need to do is send us a note with your request for the lock out kit, along with a SASE with 2 stamps on it.

We don't need anything else.

I am not aware of any 5 to 6 year rule.

Mail the SASE to;

Inland RV Center, Inc.
391 Elizabeth Lane
Corona, Ca. 92880

Upon receipt, the kit will be sent to you, the next business day.

After you install the kit, let others know how it worked out for you and your Airstream. Some are still not sure that it could possibly work.

Sorry, I just read my old post. That 5 to 6 years was "ball park".

Aage.

Yes, my bad luck continues, usually three times a year.

I am punished by being forced to go to Hawaii, and indulge in some Mai Tai's, going to Luau's, revisiting the PCC, the Arizona Memorial, the Circle Island tours, dinner cruises, going down to see clear water at 110 feet in a submarine, and especially punished by the nightime cold temperature of 65 to 70 degrees, and the daytime ridiculous temperatures of 80 to 82 degrees.

I can even see rain here, once in a while, instead of having to go to a movie back home to see it, excepting the last couple of months.

And the worst of all, I am forced to watch, with naked eyes, the single and double rainbows. The hula dancers, excepted.

I have no idea when all this punishment will diminish.

Never, I hope. hawaiian, that is.

Mahalo.

OK, Andy...ENOUGH - You're having way too much fun!...enjoy it while you can -

Take comfort that we back here on the 'mainland' are wading through our flooded yards and shoveling that cursed 'white stuff' from our driveways so we can get to work each day...

Here's hoping you're having another crappy day in paradise....

Send a message via Skype™ to Melody Ranch
where is mine?

Andy, I sent the envelope and stamps a couple months ago. No reply. The lock out kit will apply to my 94 Sovereign won't it? If it does apply I'd sure like to have the know how of getting back inside.

Have no idea why you never received the kit.

We always send them out the next day.

Maybe USPS messed up. Nah, that never happens, does it?

PM your mailing address and I will have a kit sent to you tomorrow.

Make it quick though, as I leave this horrible place tomorrow morning, to return home.

Ray.

I did my fair share of shoveling that white stuff, as I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY.

Now, in the winter time, I can look out my office window to the north, and see snow on the top of the mountains.

Well, usually that's true, unless southern California rain and snow doesn't show up.

Sometimes, when looking at that scene, the office AC is running. Ah yes, southern California weather, is beyond description, since we only have 2 seasons, bad and worse.

Andy,
I received your kit yesterday and installation was quick. I did not have any problem aligning the handle when assembling. The friction on the lever should be enough to keep my clothes from catching the lever as in the past and tripping the lock. I often thought of cutting some of the length off of the locking lever, but this kit may do the job.
Thanks for the kit. It is a quick and expensive fix.

Frank.

Your welcome.

But where did the "expensive fix" come from?
