Tin, I'd sure love to hear and see more details about the under trailer LEDs. That is exactly what I was looking at doing for some campsite 'mood' lighting.

All of the mods look great! Now you've got my mind running.

Sorry I didn't reply back sooner, just noticed your question. Here's the link to the LED lights. David Tidmore (Roger Williams Airstream) did the install and would be the one to call. I can control the lights from within the trailer via a hardwired control or outside with a remote control. He had to rig up an extra wire or controller because of the length of the trailer. On a shorter unit it might be turn key.http://www.vanhorn1.net/index.asp?Pa...ROD&ProdID=405

Me 2 !

After seeing the quality of work done on the 'Hut' by David Tidmore et al at Roger Williams Co., I decided to bring my '04 Safari 25 over after having a 'less than acceptable' experience at Jackson Center on some warranty work. After actually fixing the things that J.C. did not or could not, I'm having some custom work done as well. David & Roger Williams Co. have restored my faith that real quality and caring still do exist in the Airstream world.

Sometimes I wished I lived in Texas. Talk to me in January and I know I wish I lived there. Your experiences are just another reason. Only 8 years til retirement.

Lights

Tin Hut

Put a remote control on the blue lights under the trailer, like I have and then you can turn them on when people are around and freak them out like I did at Homecomming.
Great modes.

Thumbs up LED Question

Would those under the trailer lights help keep it warm in winter if it was skirted? Thinking ahead. Sad to think that it's 85 degrees, but time to plan for winter living!

In eastern Virginia, it's quite cold for 8 to 12 weeks and freezing lines, etc could be a problem. I wonder if the lights would keep the grass under the trailer alive? Indian Cove is fussy about using the right kind of outdoor carpets, etc.

I don't think LED lights would provide nearly enough radiant heat to cause any increase in the ambient temperature under your unit. LED are very efficient and use little electricity and have little wasted electricity (heat).

As far as growing grass with them is going to be tough. Each LED emits a very distinct light spectrum and most plants need light from various bands of the light specturm to grow properly. You can learn more about LED and plant growth here...
