Would you please post a couple of pictures with the rack fully assembled and with the top half off so I can see how much space I need to store the top half? Also how easy/difficult is it to do that.

Thanks,

I am not that familiar with your hitch. The folks at Arvika are very helpful and I think can answer that question.

Someone asked about price and my memory is not great but think it was about $325 and then the shipping was expensive--about $150 or so. They don't have any state-side suppliers that I know of so it came (promptly) from Canada. Altogether it was a little over $500 two years ago.

This is the quote I got last week in Canadian dollars. Today's USD/CD exchange

1. 7000 AFAR Airstream bracket 238.00 = USD 225.49
2. 7002-26-A for 2 bikes 274.20 = USD 259.78
3. BR-AF Arm 47.40 = USD 44.91
Total = USD$530.18
Shipping cost 68.00 USD 64.42
4. 7000-H2 158.10 = USD 149.79

The 7000-H2 is not required but I need this to transport my bikes on my truck when going to pick up the trailer in storage or to transport bikes on side trips from camp.

Gotta pay to play.

Hope this works attaching photo of our Arvika bike rack. This is from a trip 2 years ago. There is some leeway on the A-Frame behind the Propane as to where to attach the rack -- about 3" forward or back.

Does having the jack support bracket on the side of the bike rack cause the curb side to flex with the weight of the bikes?

With the already heavy tongue weight of a late model 25' Airstream, I would hesitate adding anything to it.

I have a front receiver mounted on my F250... Is there any rule of the road that prevents me from putting bicycles on the front of the vehicle? You may have to zoom in on the photo, but it's directly underneath the winch roller. I am thinking of a Swagman Semi 4.0 platform rack.

Too late, I already purchased and installed an Arvika set up. Now that I have had our 2008 Classic 25fb for about 5 months now I may have to get a washer on my Equalizer hitch head to compensate for the bike rack with bikes and some items we store under the front bed. I've got 4 washers currently. One LP tank is fully the 2nd is about 2/3 full.

Adding the washer will tilt the head back and that can give some better sway resistance, but makes things less flexible at the hitch connection. I was always concerned about this when I used the Equal-I-Zer so avoided adding tongue weight.

The Fiama rack seems like it could work for us. One big question is.....do the bikes touch one another when mounted on the carrier?

Does the rack work for higher end bikes that you'd like to keep separated or is it meant for the WallMart variety toss-around bikes?

It took us some adjustment back and forth on the track before the bikes didn't touch. Once the initial position is set it is simple.

If put on correctly, the bikes don't rub against one another. I think the bike rack works really well. However, if you install it yourself...goodluck, the instructions aren't that great. Here's a photo of our bikes and we didn't buy them at Walmart:

I see the wheel straps. How else are they secured to the rack?

They are VERY secure. They actually attach to rack in the bottom groove.

The wheels sit in deep vees and there are straps that hold onto the vertical bike frame. Then a nylon strap to hold everything tight. I also add a gator cable lock for security. Never have the bikes budged or rubbed or issues with the rack itself even going down a gravel road that popped a rivet in the trailer ceiling.

Does anyone know if a mountain bike with 2.3 inch tires will fit in the tire channels?
