Alternatives to Vintage parts stores?
So, what other stores out there sell the knobs, switchs, latches, trim, etc and other odds and ends for vintage Airstreams and Argosys?
Are there other dedicated Vintage parts stores out there? I did do a search on this topic but am looking for some recent information.

other sources
I've had excellent service and generally better pricing from Airstreamdreams.com, campingworld.com, and Airstream.com. You can also get good quality products that translate well into RVs from Westmarine.com and other nautical/marine suppliers. Fortunately, no one has a monopoly on parts. I've bought several items from Ebay and had only one bad experience out of 90+ purchases and it was my fault for not paying attention to the feedback. I wish those who advertise here had to post satisfaction/feedback like they do on Ebay. It would probably be eye opening.

I just got a package today from one of my favorite sources of Airstream parts.
Fogdall RV in Iowa 800-747-0747
If you have part umbers that is best, but they can find most of what you want if you can accurately describe it

There are several places to purchase products other than Inland RV that are more cost effective as well having service performed in the LA market. One is C&G Trailer ,Bellflower Ca. and Vintage Vacations in Anahiem Ca. Andy can be difficult at times to deal with thats why we have a free enterprize system to choose from.

Excella 3287
Excella 3287, based on my experience as well I share your opinion and frequent many of the other suppliers mentioned. Price is important but service and courtesy are equally important.

Are my eyes and mind playing trix on me or has the name of this thread been altered?
I notice that there is no "edit" explanation.
What exactly was out of order about the thread title?
Actually some of the content is possibly borderline, but the title seemed like a harmless and specific question.
I do business on occasion with Inland and have no complaints. I also have garnered much free advice from Andy. If I don't like a price I just don't buy. No need to complain. I accept his style for what it is....his own. I only wish his website showed more parts. Seems the quarterly sales are almost always the same selection. I also wish Andy would move the business back to San Antonio.
I still am always looking for other sources for anything Airstream. There are lots of dealers who can order current parts, I always hope maybe some of the older dealers still have a few vintage parts. So what's wrong with asking that question here?
Airstream Dreams is a mystery to me.
Where are they exactly? Why don't they have a presence here on the forum? (Maybe they do) I have heard rumor that one of the moderators on one of the lists/boards/forums is the owner but have also seen that denied.
I was talking to American Way RV in Idaho awhile back and they told me that they no longer were an Airstream Dealer. I asked about old stock of AS parts and they told me that Airstream had picked them all up. Not a bad deal for a dealer, but not an advantage for we bargain hunters.
Ace Fogdall has very nice parts people. Prices on factory parts seem to be exact same as other AS dealers elsewhere. Probably full list.
Although there are a very few deals and steals sprinkled around, it is more fair to assume that if you want to dance in the Airstream Ballroom you're gonna have to pay the Band.

American Way
My trailer, a 1985 34' Limited came from American Way. Sad to hear that they aren't Airstream Dealers anymore. I plan on going west in couple years and I was going to stop in (still will), on my way to the International that is going to be in Oregon in a few years. Good posts. Keep em coming!

You can find 69-round taillight lenses, marker lights and porch lights at many truck supply stores, for a very low price.

They're in (or near) Burlington, VT. There's a link on their website that explains it, afaik.

Van,
You mentioned latches, etc. Fairly new to all this but we are in the process of restoring our '69 Landyacht. Don't know your year but found a couple of sources for some small parts through lots of investigation. Amazingly the door bumper and catch that holds your entrance door when open to the body is still made by Bargman, (had to use an eyeloop to see that one). Online at www.bargman.com. Also if you have a screen door the roller catch that holds the screen door shut is still made by Amerock, and the magnetic catches as well. Check out www.amerock.com, do product search on roller catch. You may not need these little parts, but just in case. Will post any other I come across. BTW Andy has been a great help to me, we are fortunate he takes the time our of his busy days to respond to our endless questions. If you read this Thanks Andy!

It was edited for some reason. I made no mention of any issues with InlandRV in the original post.
It isnt his prices we are having issues with, it is the lack of customer service and demeanor of some of the phone contacts that have taken place.
Whatever, it is his business to run as he sees fit.
I was just curious as to other places of business out there that ran similar operations.

I'm Lucky
I saved an answering machine message from Andy with regards to a service issue. Just in case we went legal, not worth the $ or time. Paid 500 to fix a leak and guess what I've still got the leak. In doing business with anyone buyer beware.
