Airstream on Toyota.com Website

Take a look when you get a chance. There is a 2008 Toyota Sequoia pulling a 25'FB Safari SE, the photo is on the home page and it automatically rotates between three other photos.

Sweet...though they screwed up the other two pictures. The HiHy is missing its Bambi and the Tundra needs a Classic...;-)

Richard....such a comedian.

Too bad they wouldn't pay you what they paid the photographer on the other shot.

Now, an SUV has a heavier body than the corresponding pickup model's box. So of course the Sequoia spec page says a 5.7L 4WD has a 1270# payload capacity (difference between GVWR & curb weight). That's a 25' FB SE (or CCD?). They photoshopped out the air conditioner, so saved some weight there.

Let's charitably assume 900# tongue weight with LP in the tanks, WD gear mounted and moderate loading inside the trailer. That's at least 120# of bicycles on top. Which leaves a grand total of 250# for all remaining load inside the tow vehicle. 4 bikes, 4 people. Cat? Bag o' chips? Bottled water & an iPod? There's no way that setup isn't 300# over spec'd TV GVWR. The Sequoia is a 1/2-ton vehicle -- only a few 1/2-tonners have the payload capacity to bear the newer, heavier 25-footers. Hensley or not that TV is overweight.

If you take the people out of the equation, it will work . A better match would have been a sport model which is much lighter. My double cab Tundra has 1600# of payload capacity when figured in with less people and less bikes, should come in under the limit. Since my 75 is much lighter, I have no issues. The new line of Toyota's are nice trucks with strong engines, but they are still 1/2 trucks and have limits.
