Airstream of Mississippi

Like several other members here on Airforums, I have taken this Airstream obsession to a new level. I have decided to start an Airstream RV dealership. Currently I own an automobile dealership and we have some land, about 3 acres, next that business. We will be remodeling a building for sales and parts, and will be building a service department. Both should be completed in the spring. In the mean time, we have facilities for sales, parts, and service.

The official name of the new business is: Foley RV Center and Airstream of Mississippi. We will do all of our Airstream marketing as Airstream of Mississippi. In addition to Airstream, we will also carry the Thor brands of Dutchmen and Coleman, We are located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, about half way (70 miles) between New Orleans, LA and Mobile, AL.

We will carry both Airsteam Travel Trailers and Touring Coaches and we already have about 15 Airstreams in stock ready for sale. In fact, we sold our first Airstream last week!

We'll keep everyone everyone informed as we proceed with this new business venture!

Great news!

We love southern Mississippi and the Gulf area. Good to hear they will be getting some more jobs down there.

Maggie,

Thank you! We're starting off small, we have hired 3 new employees and are looking for about 2 more (our automobile dealership has 95 empoyees).

Thank you! We are only 1 mile north of I-10. We will have 3 sites with full hookups for customers and travelers. Out-of-town service customers will able to spend the night in their RV and so will customers purchasing an Airstream-to make they know how everything works and that it's operating properly.

Foley....Don't know what auto dealership you have, but maybe you should hook up some upscale tow vehicles to a couple of those Airstreams and offer a special 'turn key' or drive-a-way unit - have some of the trailer essentials stowed away inside, so an inspired buyer could pay up, hop in, and drive away on their adventure of a lifetime!

Good luck on your new 'adventure' in the RV world - takes a lot of guts to pony up the $'s these days to begin such a venture...

Yes, I do know about the Canopener rally, it's about 4 hours east of us. We are signed up to go this year & will be in site #129. It should be a great time, we went four years ago.

This is an invaluable service, and something every dealer should strive for. It is so hard to find an overnight spot close to your 8am service appointment.

Great that you are being so thoughtful and thorough, and this will encourage travelers through your area to come by for service work.

Funny, we have a 2011 Chevy Tahoe (should I change it to an Escalade?)hooked up to 2012 20' Flying Cloud in front of the RV dealership now. I need to put a couple of kayaks on the Tahoe--maybe I'll get 4, 2 for the Tahoe/Flying Cloud, 2 for the Eddie Bauer! I'll post a photo.

If the vintage parts are available from Airstream, we can order them. I will be checking into the vintage parts myself because I own 2 vintage Airstreams and 2 vintage Argosys.

Heard at Alumapoloosa rally that a dealer was opening up in Gulfport,MS. They also said the dealer was an avid Airstreamer, and knew their product . It's good to have a dealer on the Gulf Coast and we wish you success. We will use you as our needs come up and look forward to visiting your dealership .

We hope that the new Airstream if Mississippi does great. It is now our nearest dealer. We'll be over there to take a look. Lucy's hubs will need servicing soon. We just may bring her over there for some TLC.

We have just had a lovely visit with Rick Foley and his staff at Airstream of Mississippi in Gulfport. Nice people!

Foley RV Center Gulfport, MS RV Dealer

While you wait for service, they have a little restaurant within where you can get breakfast or lunch!

There is a nice inventory of trailers and Class B's, and Rick is restoring a 1975 Argosy we got to take a look at. Very cool.

Come on down!
