Thanks Patrick,
Is fun to see what's new out of the plant - the AS Web Site sure doesn't 'tout' their new stuff for weeks or months, after new changes are made!
I wish they'd publish more Options on their spec sheets so interested buyers get a feeling of what's available before they sit down with a dealer...
A 'Build your own' feature would be fun to run through, similar to what the Auto Mfg's offer on their sites...
Thanks again, love the pics...

Nice updates. Is it possible to purchase either of these through an Airstream dealer:
1. Dimmer Switch
2. Retractable Clothsline in Shower

Airslide,
The retractable clothesline is probably available elsewhere as I have seen them in motel bathrooms for quite some time.
Dimmers are widely available and may match the existing buttons and plates.

Love the china toilet. I was looking at the one in my trailer today and thinking that I would like to replace it with a china model when we return from our summer trip.
We had a china head in our first Airstream, a 2003 22' International. Lots easier to keep clean and much quieter.

That's interesting. I thought all the noise from our head came from the water pump.

That's not the noise I was speaking of. A stream of liquid against a thin plastic shell is not particularly quiet, if you know what I mean.

Our 2011 has the thermostat. Still can't figure it out, but I will.
I'll be interested in the inverter. La Gringa develops software, and will want to be able to do that while we are traveling in the trailer. It always seemed kinda wasteful, electronically speaking, to take 12 vdc and invert it to 110 ac, and then convert it back to various dc voltages to charge laptops and cell phones. Lets face it, anytime you put your hand on a charger, converter, or inverter, and it's warm....some of your cherished power is being wasted to heat the atmosphere.
Would probably make more sense from an electric standpoint to have a variable- output dc-to-dc converter. 12 volts in, and various controllable outputs... Hmmm....

Hate I missed the XT Series WH and the new Sony media receiver. Oh well...
I love the interior of the new Internationals; just wished the 30' model came in the twin bed floor plan.

Yay a silver framed shower door! I've always wondered with all that aluminum (silver silver everywhere) why oh why did they choose to install a shower door with a gold frame? Really??

Inquiring Minds Want to KNOW..
Dear Neat....
Are they going to do the Eddie Bauer in a 27 FB with TWINS? I've been hoarding my nickels, dimes, quarters and C-notes!
Sincerely, Paula

Paula,
The Eddie Bauer is still only available as a 25' FB Queen and there are no plans on any other floor plans most likely due to the licensing agreements.

Second AC and delete skylights
Anyone hear know if you can add a second AC to the International 27FB and delete skylights if special ordering? Thanks.

Judy', in the past Airstream has been inconsistent about special orders. There have been a few posts in the last several years stating that when people wanted the skylight deleted, Airstream either refused or charged a lot for for not cutting a hole in the roof and not installing the skylight (one or both—either way people were disappointed). In the summer the skylight lets in loads of heat unless you block it with something besides the flimsy shade to provide insulation.
You can always ask—check with Airstream, not a dealer. Some dealers just don't care enough to bother to ask.
With 2 A/C's, you will need to upgrade to a 50 amp electrical system and that will cost extra too. The wiring and drain tube need to be installed and that is best done before the inner skin is installed. But if the new 27' is little different than in the past, the skylight is only a couple of feet from the A/C and you would have them too close to each other. A better arrangement would be to remove the front (bedroom) fan and put an A/C there and also eliminate the skylight.
The 2011 Int. 27' comes with a 15,000 BTU A/C, a bit bigger than the 13,500 BTU on the 25' and it may be better to see how it works before you consider the upgrade. You may find it cheaper to have someone who works on RV's do the change than have Airstream do it if you still feel it necessary. The issue of wiring and drain are the most problematical part of such a change. Obviously the cheapest way is to not do it, but if you are convinced this is a good thing, price it from Airstream and from shops familiar with Airstreams and having a good reputation.
We have gotten by with ours by staying away from extreme heat—go north and go high (altitude, though the other meaning may help too).

They built mine without skylights, and as Gene mentioned above, it involved a $500 change fee. I am glad I made the decision to delete them. We spend a good bit of time during the summer months at the beach with no shade and with 2 air conditioners, we still struggle to keep it as cool as we would like.
