1993 30' Excella Front Kitchen

Anybody have the front kitchen layout? We just bought a 1993 30' with the front kitchen layout and love it. The price was really good and we think it may be because this layout was never very popular - we love it though.

They also had a problem with not enough tongue weight.

Steel bars were loaded up inside the "A" frame, to create that tongue weight.

Usually, you could retract the front jack, and the trailer would balance itself on just the tires.

A weird sight to see.

Some where, who knows, I have a photo of that model, showing the tongue jack, totally retracted, and the trailer still level.

Spooky. And it wasn't even Halloween.

That's when we learned Airstream came up with the flat steel bar addition to the inside of the A-frame.

Surprisingly, that added enough weight to make the front end behave in a normal way. Still not enough tongue weight, but enough so that the tongue jack stayed on the ground.
