photos of '64 safari

attached are the photos before any work has been done.
Does it look like serious damage or is it just oxidation?
If it's just oxidation does the body just need to be stripped with one of the products mentioned, scraped or just washed off, then polished and buffed?
Is the clear coat where it is still shiny or dull?
And does the whole thing need to be stripped in this case?
Thank you eveyone!!
I really feel lost with this.

Looks like ours did before we polished. Just failing clearcoat & oxidation at various stages...

Just stripping it will help a bunch. Yes you will need to strip the whole thing...no shortcuts. But go ahead and test an area to see what you get...it can't hurt it at this point. Be sure to remove or protect all the plastic lenses and signage medallions as the stripper will melt plastic & remove the paint from those as well as the clearcoat. We use Aircraft Stripper by Kleen-Strip...it works great, but is nasty stuff if it gets on you so be careful.

Look at some of our before pictures on our website, you'll see the similarities...I say jump in! I actually liked stripping...the polishing is where all the hard work begins...but Mr.InsideOut did most of that, I stuck to the detailing and smaller parts.

Below are some "Before" pics that show our splotchiness.
#1 ) I kinda like this one...it wouldn't have looked so colorful if the skin was polished.
#2) shows a portion stripped right behind the window.
#3 & #4) show a close-up of the panel right behind the window curbside.
#5) shows the end results of our polishing efforts at the same area right behind the window...

Hello,

The question has been answered! However what you see on your Airstream has been referred to as Airstream pattern baldness... I rather like it! Our Bambi has it.
