window in bathroom?

My wife and I went to a couple of dealerships with our trade in
on Saturday. We had called ahead to make sure that they
had a '04 Bambi in stock. At the first dealership they had a '04
19' CCD and a 19' Bambi. We really loved both A/S but we
both liked the 19' Bambi more. The one thing we saw right away
that was different was that the CCD had two small oval windows
behind the toilet that lets in a fair amount of light that the
Bambi didn't have. We bought the Bambi anyway at # 2 dealer but I'm wondering if anyone has tried to, or has put the CCD windows in the Bambi?? The layouts look identical so I would think that A/S wouldn't run the vent pipe or wires on one, one way, for the windows and on the other another. If anyone has looked into this I would like to hear from you. The rep is looking into it for us as well.

Thanks!!!

I'd be interested, too. My wife and I have discussed a bathroom window for our '01. I'm sure the dealer could instal one - I've seen Airstreams totally dismantled in their shop.

You know after owning the bambi for a while we are okay with
the light in the bathroom.

I think the reason we thought it was so dark initially, was that the
trailers were so close to each other on the lot.

Besides, we talked to the dealer and A/S about doing the window
and the dealer wouldn't touch it and A/S wanted the trailer in
Ohio for a week to 10 days. Yep, the bathroom is rite fine the way
it is!!!!

Thanks

A late reply-I put a window in the head of our 19 ft. 2000 Bambi. The only difficult part was getting the window from Airstream. They want the vin#, etc. Tell them you broke one of the windows and need a replacement. They will not sell you one if you say you want to add one in the head! The window I put in is just like the window over the galley sink. Mark the center point for the window location from the inside (not the outside- you'll be off!) and drill a small hole all the way thru. Then you can reference for your cutout from the outside. It's easy and there is no plumbing or elect. in that location, and the aluminium is only slightly thicker than a beer can so it's easy to cut. I used 5200 polyurthane marine sealant so it's in forever. Good Luck!!

Arrrr! (pictures at link)

Aluminum too!

Caution is required if saltwater comes in window. A worthy project if performed with care (certainly avoiding frame members). How did you know in advance that no wires were in the area?

Good job, Captn! Got any pictures to share? I'd love to see how that looks.

And welcome to the forum.

I like to see the results also. My 76 Sovereign has a window in the bathroom but I see the newer 30's and 34's don't. I wonder itf Airstream would put one in if youwere having your coach built?
