16' Bambi Rear Compartment Storage Bins Sizing

Our new-to-us AS 16' Bambi did not come with storage bins in the rear storage compartment. When I was looking at the new trailers I noticed that there were a number of Rubbermaid-type lidded bins in the rear compartment. I would like to buy a full set of these bins for my trailer.

Would someone please tell me the quantity and size of the bins that you have in your newer-model 16' Bambi?

did you get this sorted out? if not I'll be on our trailer this weekend and can get you the details on the bins. we just had to replace one ourselves.

how are you liking your new 16'? We just switched from a 25' to a 16' ourselves.

I haven't been able to get any information on the factory bins, so any that you could provide me with will be greatly appreciated.

I bought a few "clear watertight totes" at the container store that I really like. They are pretty heavy duty, seal tightly, hold a lot of weight, and seem well-designed. Unfortunately I'm afraid they'll crack easily once it gets to be winter.

Nevertheless, I haven't figured out yet how to optimize the storage space in the rear compartment using these bins. It seemed like the AS factory did a pretty good job of using up most of the space with their bin arrangement.

We love our "new-to-us" 16'. We've camped out in the driveway and garage several times. Our first trip will be next weekend. My wife and son are as excited as I am.

I've been enjoying reading your "getting smaller" thread. I hope you'll continue to update us on you adventures.

... sorry was out of town in the camper!

Our trailer came with four Sterilite 32-Qt. storage boxes. These were in the middle and stack two high. On the outside there were two double height boxes that could only be removed from the inside of the trailer. In essence there are four bays for either one tall box or two of the 32 Qt boxes stacked.

I promptly broke one of the 32 Qt. boxes by stepping off of the truck bed on to it accidentally.

My wife says the 32 Qt. are not available but we replaced them with the following from Amazon, they are near identical to what came with the trailer.

Sterilite 16558010 Sterilite 28-Qt. Storage Box
Amazon.com - Sterilite 2194-2263 Sterilite 28 Quart Clear Storage Box 1 - Lidded Home Storage Bins

We ditched the big boxes in favor of the 32/28 Qt. So we have:

Bay 1: no box. Have shore power cable, city water hoses, leveling blocks.
Bay 2 - 4: 2x 32/28 Qt boxes per bay.

Works great.

Hope this helps!
