Unusual Safari VINs

I have a '73 Safari with VIN L23-T3-J2716
I have a '77 Safari with VIN L23-D7-J2717

I find it interesting that the serial numbers are only one digit apart. No, I had nothing to do with this. The '73 came out of a storage yard here in Colorado about 7 years ago. The '77 came out of a storage yard in Chino Valley, AZ about 10 years ago. Totally random.

The last 4 digit sequential production number part of the serial number reset each year for each plant, so the similarity in your case is just a coincidence

I have actually run across a case where an Argosy from the Versailes plant and an Argosy from the Cerritos plant from the same model year had the exact same 4- digit sequence number at the end. Quite a coincidence.
