That is one cool Safari ! You folks have done so much work on it. The cabinetry looks great. I like the slide in cook top with a microwave underneath. I'm no cook, but we have never used our oven in the 86. My Trade Wind isn't getting an oven, only a microwave. We'll get a dutch oven if we need a pot roast while on vacation.

Thanks for the update. I hope to see the Safari on the road some day.

Progress looks great! The girls and both of us are getting so excited about getting to see the trailer in a few weeks! B asked how many nights in a row she gets to sleep in the camper. :-)

As many nights as she wants

Tell her as many nights as she wants and as long as she can go to sleep before 2 AM!

Finished the curtains!!

I finished up the curtains today other than the final hemming on the roadside bed and bathroom windows. DH is installing the shelf behind the bed so I don't know what height to hem the curtains to just yet. I think I will let our daughter decide that when they come in two weeks and it won't take long to hem them.

DH got the interior door painted gray like the interior walls (it looks funny in the pictures because I was sideways when I took the picture...) and has started working on the closet/bathroom area. The last cushion was a nightmare due to an oversight (I don't want to talk about it) but I think I will have it sort of fixed by the end of the weekend. Then my part on Freckles is done....except for.....finding these in perfect condition vintage Tupperware containers in ORANGE!

No more peeking!!

Dear daughter and family will be here on Thursday and we are going to keep a few things under wraps until after they have seen it. I will give a few hints that involve electricity, water, and air. That is about all I can share for now.

The bathroom is about done now and DH is building the closet. He has about 20 things to do before he can say it is ready to go and he is checking things off as he goes. Of course we find a few to add to the list as we go too. DH would like to get it polished before it leaves but then he won't be able to sleep any more so that one is out.

The first photo is a surprise for them in the bathroom closet even though it looks like a body bag. The second and fourth ones are the scare light up and running and the last one is the kids' bed with the curtain up and just above the shelf.

We are in overload working to get this Safari ready to roll by Sunday. Little girls will be with us through the weekend and then off the Safari goes to MN. We are going to miss her but she is going where she will be loved and used to make tons of great memories. I can't wait for them to get here and see the "finished" product. Well, maybe not finished....but closer to finished than in was in April when our daughter came to help for a few days. We hope they love it.

We almost passed inspection!

Daughter and family here for the weekend and we almost passed inspection. Have a couple of issues to resolve and some other jobs to complete before we do the hand off in another week.

Some photos of a door patch and the screen guard along with some other fixes. The back window was a bugger to get in and we all tried various times until much puttering with the channel and window frame finally resulted in success. Toilet surround turned out pretty nice given the disaster it was before.

Our daughter looked over the Pacer awning and is going to go with a vintage one for while. I got the fabric already and just need some time to get it done up this week. I think they will eventually go with a more modern one but for now this is good enough.

Getting closer to done!
Sandy

Forgot some photos!

The holes in the door skin that needed to be covered and a Safari patch to match. The sign was painted by a lady from MN that was at a street fair over the 4th of July. I got one for each of the trailers that we have done so far-Freckles, the Albatross, and Easy.

Almost Ready!

A few pictures from Freckles last weekend - we are excited to bring her to Minnesota on Sunday! DH said I have a couple hours to get things organized on Sunday before we have no kids all week and are busy going out to dinner all week. I think his expectations might have to be reset...

Freckles - first voyage!

Freckles took her first trip since being restored out to the MN Airstream Park in Clear Lake MN - was a very nice campground, lots of friendly people and nice Airstreams to admire. The kids had fun swimming at the pool and the boys liked the golfing. We all had fun catching up with each other as we travelled from Shakopee, Bismarck, and Fargo to be together.

Although I had spent weeks getting lists prepared and stocking the camper, forgot two essentials - water and blankets! So those are on my list for this weekend as we try out Jellystone in Austin MN.

Awesome weekend!

It was great fun to all get together for our first time out with Freckles and Easy. Can't wait for our next adventure using all the Airstreams.
