Updating the 1965 trailer plug

So, for some silly reason, my first project is to put a new plug onto the trailer umbilical, updating the connection to the current standard and get the lights and brakes working. I've already got the new plug and it'll be a quick project. I've read that you can jumper from the 12v blade to the running light blade with either a short wire or a fuse and power up the running lights while parked and disconnected.

Based on my research, I've made up a chart of how the wiring should wind up:



I haven't done the work yet, so this is theoretical. If an anyone has already done this I'd be glad for see if I've got my plan right.

Seems like this should work, the 12v blade does go to the battery (there should be a 20 or 30 amp fuse in that line) so it should be hot even when disconnected. The running lights are looking for 12v to light up, so connecting the two should light up the running lights. It would run the battery down, but if you needed to leave the trailer beside the road while getting a tire fixed or solving some other problem this might be a good idea.
Beware that the old round hole plugs seem to have a different wire diagram than the newer flat blade plugs, and the wire colors are different than the ones that are internal to your 1965 Airstream.
