Wink '65 Safari Renovation Completed!

We have just completed our 2 ½ year renovation of our 65 Safari. We wanted to thank everyone on the Airstream Forum for all their help in answering our questions, especially Dan K. We updated a few things by adding a new toilet, fantastic fan, microwave, gray tank, door for the bathroom and Zip Dee awning. We did all the work ourselves with lots of ‘how to’ advise from others on the Forum. Most of the cabinets we had to repair and sometimes replace the mahogany and then stain them. We replaced the floor and made new cushions and upholstery. The buffing of the outside was very time consuming but well worht the look! We just got back from our first trip from California to Yellowstone. We were very surprised that the Safari held together! We also learned that having a vintage Airstream is a conversation starter. Everywhere we went others wanted to ask questions and tour the Safari. We have included a few before and after pictures.

Any man who can smile while removing rotten flooring and staring through frame rails surrounded by tired insulation is a true hero on this Forum! Congratulations, and great job! Hope to see it at Jackson in October... We'll bring sunglasses..
