Mr. Was.... You funny guy. No patches on your 31footer? You have the mid-ship bathroom don't you? Less issues with that mid-ship, I guess?
Are you still going on your big "Drive-about"? Let me and the Bunny know if you pass thru the greater Redding area on your drive-about. I would like to see your baby.

Rex To misquote a famous movie. Patches we don`t need no stinkin patches.
Actually I do have two patches in the curbside skin from the old awning. One is above and to the rear of the kitchen window where the center arm mounted to the shell (about 2 in x 4 in) and another in front of the curbside living room window again a mount location ( a 2 in round). I used to have an ugly 4 ft long scar in the middle of the roadside lower skin from the axles rearward. It was patched with steel pop rivets and had a label attached (no access). During the shell reinstall I replaced the entire 21ft x 3 ft section to get rid of it.
I`m not sure about a maided voyage in 2011. With any luck I might get the trailer finished by Dec 2011 or sometime during the winter of 2012.
If I do get done then I plan to go to the TAC rally in WDW Ft. Wilderness in FLA for Nov 2012 and go on from there. I`ll probably winter in Texas and California and then head back east mid March 2012 to get home for April 2012 and get the park open. that`s along way away so plenty of time to plan visits.

Today's project was to upholster cushions for the diner, using the new Red fabric that The Bunny ordered last week. Spent some AM time with the folks at the upholsetery supply store, making sure I knew how to layout a cushion pattern. I purchased two sections of this light cardboard that is used to layout the patterns.
This photo of my first cushion took me most of the PM to layout and sew. Hopefully tomorrow I can layout all three of the remaining cushions for the diner and maybe get them sewn.

Rex,
The red looks great! How thick is that foam?
Still looking at that GT? TOP tells me that bigger isn't always better. It's a nice size for weekend trips (casino?).

Mr. 63... Thanks, the foam is 4" thick. Nope looking at Canned Hams. Top is always right, and yes it would be nice to have a small trailer. Next trip is Casni Ranch RV park for the NorCal Rally. Our 1st with other Streamers
Better not be any bikers there, because.....

Today I completed upholstering the Diner cushions. It started with another visit to the upholster supply store. I was hoping to pick-up one small section of foam to complete the last cushion. But they didn't have the size and type to match the foam I have on-hand.
SOOOO, I purchased a 1/2 sheet of 4" high density foam....not cheap! They did cut the four sections for me at no cost... two seats & two backs.
Using the light cardboard as a template, I scribed my sew lines. I had the velcro on-hand, so I used that instead of buying zippers at the supply store. The gal at the upholstery shop suggested that I make the sew lines a 1/2" short, that way the cushion will be nice and tight...that was good advice. I'm very happy with the out-come, and glad to finish so I can move on to the upper cabinet above the kitchen.

Thanks Mr. Drift.... The Bunny picked out the fabric off the internet. So, one never really knows how it really looks until you open the box. But, we both really like it...it makes that area pop.
Did you get all your work stuff put away, and are you back to working on your AS?
Its spring time here, going to be in the mid 80's today, so its time to re-open my outside cabinet shop (front driveway).
With this nice riding weather, its a good day to take the bike to Costco to pick-up a couple of small items. That way I'm not tempted to buy a new BBQ or more pool furniture .

Hey, Rex.
Looks like the serious work on the AS may begin next week. One of the problems with having her stored 50 miles from home is that I can't spend just an hour at a time on her.
So, this week's interuption...I often build props and displays for an event planning company. This week I built three lifeguard stands for a juvenile diabetes fund raiser. I'm told they will be topped off with large floral arrangements. So, I guess they are big plant stands. Personally, I think they'd make a nice stool to sit on when I'm polishing the upper sides of the AS.

Looks like you're staying too busy to work on your AS.... Busy is a good thing though. Plus, doing work for the Juvenile Diabetes folks is a very good thing. Keep up the good work Mr Drift.....
The 3rd annual "Living with Diabetes expos" is tomorrow at the old down town Mall in Redding. I think the Bunny and I may go.... I just found out that I have Type 2, two days ago. Looks like my Beer drinking days are over. Limit of no more than two light beers a day, and no banking your beers for the weekend.

Sorry to hear about that, Rex. A real bummer 'cause light beer sucks. Take care of yourself.

I'm sorry to hear that, too, Rex. That's one of those curve balls that life throws at us. I hope the adjustments go well for you.

Thanks Mr. TOP and Mr. Drift.... I have been on the diet and Rx for two days now and my blood sugar has gone down 30 points aready. I think I'm going to miss the ice cream bars and the cookies every night after dinner more than the beer.
Because of my many years as a duty officer within the fire service. I didn't drink any beer all thru the work week anyway. So, even after I reitired from the fire service, I still didn't drink thru the weekdays. But I still like to have one night a week that I could have some beers and a good BBQ or dinner out on-the-town.
We have slowed down on the motorcycle campouts the last couple of years anyway, (Trust me, Biker's can Drink!). So that's no big deal, but we still liked to go camping at casino's and have some beers. So I will miss that... Plus our 1st Airstream campout is coming up...I guess, I won't be the new guy who acted like a fool the night before. So, maybe its a blessing that I am now retired from drinking more than two beers per nite .

My Dodge truck broke down yesterday, in-route to Home Depot... It stopped running like it was out of fuel, but I had 3/4's of a tank. It may be the fuel pump, if so, $1,100 just for the parts, + labor. This is the 3rd "Bad Thing" that has happened, in my life, in the last 2 weeks. Hopefully life will turn back to the "Good side" soon!
Today is "Spring cleaning day" in the yard. Must buy a new front porch light, a nesting couple of birds are trying to bulid there nest in the old one, (Glass is broken and missing in the Front porch light).
