More pics of the Jackson Rancheria Casino Rally... Night shots with, and without flash on. First thing you do, once you check in, is flush your black tank, than they give you their own sewer treatment concentrate to drop into your tank. Last pic, is a view from the dog run, looking back at the pool area behind the main RV lodge.

This weekend The Bunny and I are going camping in our backyard! Why...you ask? We are remodelling... painting, and installing new flooring in our bedroom, so we are going to stay in our "Guess House" for a couple on nights...Well hopefully, just a couple of nights.
The sofa pulls out into a queen island bed...

Hey Marc...
Not sure what color the Bunny has picked out for our bedroom. I guess I will find out this weekend, when we go to Lowes and get the paint.
Today, I pulled the all the bedroom furniture out...except our bed. Than pulled all the baseboards off, and patched all the nail holes in the walls. Not much fun, but it was time to remodel...12 year old carpet we be removed tomorrow. So, tomorrow night we'll start "RVing" in our backyard... I'm hoping for two or three nights in the Airstream at the most.

Ms. R...You're probably right...wishful thinking on my part. But, we have a small house and a big backyard. It's a $80,000 house, with a yard that should be attached to million dollar home! Anyway, the bed is still in the bedroom, but I have all the base boards out.
So, today I will pull the bed and wash the walls with TSP, plus pull the carpet. Sunday we should have most of the painting done. I'm hoping to install the new carpet on Monday....so, maybe Monday night, I can put the bed back in place.
Trust me... I would rather be working on Rita! This like taking my sister to the prom...not much fun!

Day two of campout in the backyard.... got the bedroom painted, The Bunny finished painting the trim... and new base boards. I will install the base boards tomorrow, so on Monday I will set up the bed for a couple of days. Once the carpet gets here, I will pull the bed for the day and install carpet.
Going faster than I through it would, because we worked late last night painting the 1st coat...

Trex,
Sounds like the bedroom remodel is going smoothly and will look great when you are finished in a couple of days. Our next remodel will be the driveway so we can move the AS out of storage and back home. Then it will be ready as a guest house if/when we decide to remodel our bedroom.
While you and the Bunny are backyard camping Becky and I are still on the road. We are on our last couple of nights before the reality of work and the real world kick back in. We had a great time meeting you two at the rally and can't wait for the spring rally at Cassini to see you both again.

Thanks Scott.... it was nice to meet you guys. Looks like we will get the bed back in today, although the Island queen bed in Rita is very comfortable.
Wow! So you and Becky are still on the road...nice! Our next planned RV trip will be over Thanksgiving...we have reservations at Feather Falls Casino KOA, (FFC-KOA). But, we may have a couple of unplanned quick trips between now and Thanksgiving.
Feather Falls KOA is just as nice is Jackson Ranch RV. Except FFC has there own Brew Pub, and the KOA is within walking distance to the Casino...so its easier to get back and forth.
Unplanned trips... We may go to Rolling Hills Casino RV, which is only an hour south of Shasta Lake. Or we may go to Lakeshore RV which is only 20 min. north....
Enjoy your Sunday and go 49ers!

Just got back home
Our first long trip was a lot of fun, but it is good to be home. Final odometer reading was 3,278 miles. Next trip is in two weeks for the So Cal 'streamers rally at Rivernook campground in Kernville. Smaller group than at Jackson Rancharia, but should be a lot of fun. We will let you and the Bunny know the next time we are in the Lake Shasta area.

Today we got our bed back into the bedroom....so we're not camping in the backyard anymore. The Bunny purchased a new flat screen TV for our bedroom with her casino winnings. We both love the new colors, curtains, and bed covering, which she also purchased.
Pics of our new bedroom, (with camera flash and without), and our backyard "KOA Like" campsite...It's like camping at a KOA, but without the casino and Brew pub within walking distance.

Hey Scott it's nice to see that you guys made it home safely...I must say that the campout at Jackson was one of the best of the year, for The Bunny & me.
I thought that we had our reservations at Feather Falls KOA for Thanksgiving already. Not, so The Bunny got online today and made them. My parents are going to my sisters, and The Bunny's parents are staying in LA.
So, now we're good to go to Feather Falls for the "Big Three"; Thanksgiving, New Years, and Rita's 40th birthday, which is also SUPER BOWL WEEKEND!!!!!!
So, if you're in the area during any of the above holidays, think about Feather Falls KOA for fun & brew! It's one hour north of Sacramento on Hwy 99. And yes I know you guys live in L.A. If can't make it, we'll seeya at Casini, on the Russian River.

Consumer protection of the buyer
Today I would like to talk about consumer protection...when you're buying parts off the internet, from any of the national Airstream RV Dealers. There are Regulations that give "Us", greater consumer protection for online, email, and over the phone purchases.
Because you're not face to face with the dealer, your rights as a buyer are covered under the "Distance Selling Regulations." If you have ever purchased a part for your Airstream over the internet, or phone, the supplier has some obligations to give you the identity of supplier, description of the product or service, price, delivery costs, arrangenments for delivery, cancellation rights, cost of communication, period of validty of offer, and information regarding substitute products.
This information must be communicated clearly, but not necessarily in writing, before your order is confirmed, so you know all the facts, should you wish to change your mind...
Let's break down your rights under the "pre-contractual" information...when your ordering parts over the phone.
1. Identify the supplier... Make sure the Dealer gives you information of the supplier, just in case, you've had a bad experence with their products in the past.
2. Total Price... Most dealerships add handling, VAT, shipping, administrative fees, and customs duties, if you live in the "Great White North" to the price of the "goods" you're ordering. Make sure you ask for the "real" price. Because some RV dealerships charge more than others! Much, much more! Call two, or three, or four RV/Parts dealers before you buy, so you can make an informed decision, and save youself lots money!
3. Buying a part or product, that is back ordered... You need to be aware that some RV dealerships will want your money "up-front" and other's will wait until they have the part at there shop before they take your money. Also ask the dealership to keep you "Up-Dated", on the status, of the "back ordered" part or product. It's a "Red Flag".... if they can't do this for you. "Need I say more"...call around before you buy!
4. Cooling off period... You have 7 "Working Days" during which you have the right to cancel and get a full refund, once you have the part or product delivered to you home. The RV dealership must provide you with details of your cancellation rights, and any "duty of return of goods" should you cancel, and whether you will have to pay for the return of goods. The supplier must reimburse you within 30 days without charge, (unless you have been expressly informed that you will be liable for a charge... this should be disclosed at the time of purchase). So, make sure you ask if there are any charges, if you return the item! Once again, call around, and ask these questions!!!!
5. Getting your money back... Under the "Distance Selling Regulations", you are quite within your rights to change you mind at any time, and return the "goods" for a full refund. This means without financial penalty of any kind. Such as candellation charge or a "restocking" fee. The suppiler must also refund any delivery charges paid by you, and any other costs related to the contract. If they want to charge you any type of fee, for returning goods, look for another supplier! Once again, ask before you pay!
6. Card protection... Use your credit card, not your debit card! This is because... if you run into problems, and you can't get recompense from the supplier, the credit card company has equal liability. Whether you use your Credit or Debit card...both are automatically protected against fraudulent use of your payment card. The bottom line is... it's safer to use your credit card when you buy something online!
Over the last two months, I have made some misakes purchasing items over the internet, from Airstream RV Dealerships & parts suppliers. It's not important to Name said Dealerships here...but if you follow the above advice... You will, hopefully, not make the same mistakes as I did.
There's an old customer warning that simply says BUYER BEWARE. These two words implore the buyer to be careful, to be vigilant; to be on his or her toes when mulling a purchase. And to be fully aware of exactly what he or she is buying. While this warning is geared towards buyers of goods and services, it can be applied to our day to day dealings with those all around us as well.
This last week, well, I got eaten by the Bear! Next time...I'm going to be the one who has bear for dinner! Happy Streaming, my friends!

Thanks for the information Rex. It can be a challenge sometimes to buy from places many hundreds or thousands of miles away. I try to buy local when I can, if not, I usually shop online from the few vendors I have purchased from in the past. An item may be priced the same, but shipping, return, restocking, and other "surprise" charges can make them more expensive in the long run.

Thanks TOP & MarkR....
I made some mistakes, trying to order a Rock Guard for my front window 6 weeks ago... because I didn't take the time to do any research. So this time I looked at every Web site out there, selling Rock Guards. I'm really happy that I did... I found a Rock Guard in stock...and on Sale! It was at Out-Of-Doors Mart, nice people, good service, and they also stated that they don't take your money until they have the part at their shop. Is that a true statement? Anyone?...can anyone out there confirm that statement?
I should be getting my Rock Guard by next Friday! I wish that I would have made more phone calls 6 weeks ago, I would have my Rock Guard installed already! Learn from my mistakes people...call around, before you buy items/parts off the internet!!!!!!!

Thanks Sal... So Far...so good with OODM. Just wondering if anyone had to pay in advance for a back ordered item from OODM....that's all. As you may already know, other dealerships require money up front on back orders...

I have always had great service from OODM. They were recommended to me by a friend at the first rally we attended last year. I highly recommend them.
