Trex,
Counters and bed look great. Looks like the first trip will be soon. How did you stick the Pacific Coast Highway sign to the wall? What happened to the Big Lubowski? Dude....

PS... Record temps today, in the mid-70's. Love that false spring in Shasta Lake. Best time of the year in the old north state.

Today the Bunny painted the Refrig trim black and the Bulkhead white....

I pulled the sofa out of the Old Girl, and cut 4" off the back side of the plywood frame. Looks and fits the steelflex frame much better. Also raised the support holes 2" where the steel frame attaches to the plywood framework. So the final plywood frame is 34" wide x 69" long x 12" tall with the holes for the frame support drilled at 6"...dead center.

Also sanded/stained the 2 wood panels that fit on both sides of new frig.

Trex,
I like the black and white paint. Newsprint fridge panel-very retro.
Record cold here (not record, just really cold) with wind chill -25F, wonder if my tongue will stick to the AS? Double dog dare me?
Those cheesehead hats come in handy at those "big" parties.

ALmost called the Steel supply store today to tell them to keep there Stainless panels, when I saw the newpaper the Bunny had "Installed" on the new frig. A very "Retro-central-tucky" look to it.

We are still getting record high temps... Today it was windy but in the high 60's. Most of the boyz I ride with, are going for a ride tomorrow, they said that they are going Beer hunting?

The Bunny is touching up the interior paint, I may have missed a couple of spots, when I first painted.

I had to cut a hole in the back side of the sofa wood frame to maintain acess to the wiring harness going out to my tow vehicle.

Sanding and staining panels...3rd and final coat.

Want to finish before noon, so I can relax and watch the football games.

Very nice work, Rex! Love the cabinets and their organization. Lots of good ideas being put into place.

Most of all, it's been fun watching the updated interior take shape.

Thanks Mr Drift... It feels like the Old Girl is coming together. Put the doors back on the frig today, and I will pick-up the stainless door panels tomorrow. The local RV store wanted $100+ for frig panels, the Steel shop $50 bucks, (Gerlinger's in Redding).

I will also get more angle Alum. and use it to bolt down the plywood bedframe to the floor. looks like I will have approx 9" on each side of the bedframe to make storage areas....

The Bunny finished her painting assignment, she just needs to remove plastic and blue tape.

Posted Photos are of the plastic covering new countertop, access hole cut backside of bedframe, and stained panel ready to be mounted.

Hey Rex it's looking good. That's going to one huge galley once your'e done. I know you've already ordered the panels for the fridge but I wanted to let you know about something someone else did. The thread is out there in the forums I just haven't found it yet. Anyway they had some really cool pics in black and white of a fifties style drive in restaurant laminated onto plastic panels and used them on the fridge doors. It looked way cool. Just food for thought- no pun intended(food, fridge). You could use any pics of course that would fit your theme.
BTW I've never seen anyone use a leather office chair as a side car on a bike before. LOL. Also it's on the wrong side unless that's a british bike.

Thanks Mr Wasaga.... That is a good idea concerning the fridge panels, but a week to late. I guess we could change out the panels once a year, or not.

As you know, we live in NorCali, but the Old Girl will have a SoCal surfing theme, the Bunny is originally from San Clemente.

How's your weather up there in the Great White North anyway? Not gloating, but you'er in a false spring weather pattern, with record setting temps in the 70's.

Aaron Rodgers is from Chico Ca.... one hour south of Shasta Lake. We are going to Feather Falls casino for the superbowl which is 20 mins. south of Chico and is where Aaron played football for Butte Jr. College before attending CAL...Should see some Green Bay fans at Feather Falls! And, I will be one of them.

Hey Rex no false spring here. I'ts - 12F right now and the expected low tonight is -20 F. I have a pile of snow out my window from plowing about 10 ft tall. I'm going to have to dig it up and move it as my loader won't lift any higher so I have no more room for any more.

Wow... I knew there was a reason I don't live in Mt. Shasta City. They go thru the same type of winters as you wasaga, and its just an hour north of where I live. That is alot of snow my friend, don't hirt yourself moving all that stuff.

PS The Bunny removed all the blue tape and plastic between games. Looks like the Old Girl is going to get new shoes soon! I will move her tomorrow, RV shop and All Wheel for her fitting.

Sounds like a good place to watch the Super Bowl, Rex. Hope you have a really good time!! Oh, and I should add that we are really happy that Rogers is no longer playing in California. From everything I've heard, he's a really good guy aside from being a great QB.

Mr. Drift, I think Aaron is the real deal....did you watch the youtube video on Aaron? Did you notice that his jersey is #4 at Butte College. I think the last part was taped by his mom.

hey, Rex. I did notice his jersey number, quite a coincidence.. And, I had read about his work with the Angel Fund. You're correct, he's the real deal and he has handled himself extremely well here in Wisconsin. Packer fans are very passionate and many didn't want to see or believe that Favre was gone. Aaron has won them all over with his play and his character, IMHO. Thanks for posting the video.

This has been the toughest decision to make…. New Axles. That’s right the Old Girl is getting new shoes! I have spoken to many “experts”, including Andy at Inland. And I have made the decision to buy Dexter’s and have "All Wheel alignment" do the install. There shop is just down the road from my place.

The reason I am going with a shop, and not doing the work myself is simple, I want that shop warranty. Looking at all the threads relating to axles, I think I could do this task, and I want to thank one of our Forum member’s who has offered to help me install axles, THANK-YOU HOOT! But the decision has been made and I am going right now to have the Old Girl "fitted" for new shoes…
