Tomorrow, The Bunny and I are going to Feather Falls Casino KOA, for Thanksgiving weekend... We'll return on Sunday. This is our favorite place to go RV'ing vs. travel time from our place.

The KOA park is "as nice" as Jackson Rancheria RV park, but the casino is only 200 yards away from the RV park... no bus rides! Love the new multi million dollar remodel & Brew pub too!!!

Becky and I are heading south to San Diego for the long weekend in our 'stream, but I think your RV park may be a bit classier than ours. We will be at Campland on Mission Bay and from the overhead shots on Google Earth it looks a lot like a parking lot. But it is fairly close to my sister's home and I know we will have a great time.

Hey Scott.... Our trip to Feather Falls Casino was a great time. The weather was cold and foggy, but the food and beer inside made up for the crappy weather.

The Bunny broke even, but I won $300 at the poker table Thursday night, lost $200 on Friday, and I won the $35 buy-in, No Limit Texas Hold'em $1,500 guaranteed Tournament Saturday night... 1st place paid $535, but I agreed to split the pot with 2nd place, (before the finish), and give 5th and 6th place their money back. So, I ended up with $400 and some change.

On Friday in the PM the sun came out, so I did get a bike ride in, and a couple of dog walks. And The Bunny made soup on Friday and Saturday, so there was always some great food back at the Airstream. And a good reason to check on the dogs every couple of hours. The low point of the weekend is when the 49ers lost!

We got some $10 & $5 off food coupons, and the Brews were only a $1 per pint from 4 PM to 11 PM. So, it was nice to win some money, have some cheap beers & good food. Plus, have the whole Holiday weekend paid for by the casino! Anyway, Scotty-Man... I don't think we held back, but we were pretty safe overall!!!!

Sounds like a great time... and profitable too. Sorry for your 49er loss.

We also had a great time down in San Diego. Sounds like while you were winning the poker jackpots, we won the weather jackpot. Lots of sun and temps from the mid to high 70's. Had too much to eat on Thursday so Becky and I took a long walk with Heidi around part of Mission Bay on Friday and a great bike ride along the beach and bay on Saturday. And best of all... I stayed away from the edges all the open windows, so no visits to the ER on this trip.

I didn't see any snakes, didn't drink any hard liquor, and any didn't unhook my truck all weekend... and I'm glad for all three, because it made my life easier when it was time to go home. Taking the dog to the veterinarian would have been bad!

Jacky stayed in his dog cave under the diner more, because the weather was cold, and the heater was next to his cave. Bunny didn't want to use her bike, but I used mine to get to and from Rita, to check on the dogs thru-out the day. Plus it was nice to get out the smoke filled casino every two hours or so...

After having dinner, I would setup our Island Queen bed before going back to the casino each night. Nice to have a ready made bed at midnight when we would return!

I wore my lucky "Dude bowling shirt" for the poker tournament, Saturday night. Other players at the poker table started calling me "Art". Not one person knew it was a movie "prop" from the Big Lebowski!

Today, I removed the rear wheels from below the rear bumper, and fixed a sagging screen door. I used my 4" grinder, to grind down the edge of the screen door that was hitting the door jam. And then placed a screw with a plastic spacer to prop up the screen door. Now the door seems to close much easier... But it looks like the aluminium frame needs to be re-welded someday.

After removing the wheels, I weighed them... 23 less Lbs. off the rear end of Rita...which is a good thing!

Hey Marc.... The screen door was sagging because it has cracks in the welds, and the hing is loose because it has "some play" in it. So, what I did was... screw in a "Sheet Metal Screw", with a "plastic spacer" so the screen door could rest on top of the spacer/screw, (eliminating the hanging weight off of the screen door). Now the front door and screen door close as one unit.

Once the Screw was in place, it lifted the screen door approx. a 1/4". Also, I trimmed the edge of the screen door with my 4' grinder, which helped eliminate the door jam from hitting the screen door when closing the two doors as a unit.

If you can hear your screen door hitting the door jam when you close the door...you need to make some adjustments to it.

Each of the wheels that I removed from the rear end, weighed in at 11 1/2 LBS each, so its nice to eliminate 23 LBS off the tail end of Rita.

And yes... I lost 30 LBS over the last six months. I'm watching what I eat and drink now days. And going on more dog walks and bike rides.

Sorry about the photo's being a little unclear, I am trying to show the screw/with spacer located above the inside door handle. And now the screen door rests on the front door, allowing it to work as on unit.

And again, congrats on the weight loss! My ankle is improving enough that I too am starting to ride again... of course it's in the 30's to 40's around here.. so it's a bit chilly.. but I'm trying too!

Today I pulled Rita out to the side of my house, so I would have room to crawl under her, and see what kind of "patchwork" needed to be done, plus replace any missing rivets.

I've been putting this task off for months, because I knew that I would be "openning a can of worms". But I noticed that she was sagging a little bit more then the last time I looked. So I couldn't put this task off any longer.

The rear end separation had been fixed by a previous owner... not really sure who did the work, or how many years ago it was done. But, it's time to redo some of the work.

Tomorrow I will buy some materal to patch what is there. Plus post more photos. What I'm hoping for is... someone out there can post photos of their rear end separation, and what you did to repair your Airstream. It would be nice to see some photos of an original rear end underside, or one that was repaired back to the original look....

Anyway, here are some photos of today's discovery....

Hey Marc....sorry about the photos, I know that they are hard to understand. I had the camera flat on the concrete driveway pointing upward toward the belly pan.

Anyway, I purchased a 12 foot stick of 3" flat aluminum. My plan is to mount 3 foot sections along the frame. Once in place, it should hold the aluminum belly pan in place, covering the black tank. I started drilling the holes today using my floor jack to push the drill upward. If you try this, go slow and easy when you're jacking the drill upward, unless you have lots of drills bits!

This is a temporay fix, until I can buy a sheet of pre-cut aluminum, and replace the old section.

Pics are of the "drill-jack" and some kind of "bowl???" mounted above the sewer line. Not sure why the bowl is there, and it's purpose?

The other times I've seen "bowls" like that they cover the bottom of a p-trap which protrudes from above the floor. Thanks for the thread. Jeff

Hey Jeff... thanks for the intel on the bowl. I guess I'll leave it in place. I only noticed it because I removed a 2'x1' aluminum patch, to inspect the frame, and to see why someone had cutout that section in the first place...the frame looks pretty good, (some rust). And I think they cut the hole because they may have melted the plastic sewer line when they were fixing the rear end separation...welding the frame.

Anyway, I need to finish patching the underbelly today, because we are going to Win River's brand new RV park tonite. It just opened last weekend..they have 12 pull-thru sites, with 30/50 amp power, water, and sewer. I think it's $35 per nite, and they give you $10 in "Free Play" per nite. Not sure if there is cable TV, so I may have to use my $12 Wal-Mart antena. Win River is a NA casino, located in south Redding, CA

I'll post a review of the RV park Sunday, with some pics......

We are going out with my parents, and The Bunnies Grandmother for dinner, then back to Win River casino & RV for a 2nd nite. It's a pretty good deal, we got two nites for the price of one, plus $20 "free play". So, the net cost is $7.50 per nite, for full hook-ups...

Last nite, I won $300 at the poker table. This morning, I made the final table, but just outside the money in a $50 buy-in tournament. So far, another great fun filled weekend!

PS, the work I did on Rita's rear end, turned out pretty good. So, I don't think I'm going to mess with it, as long as the rivets stay in place. (50+ new rivets).
