It's amazing what a little foam can do... it gives the plywood such a nice soft shape... was this the Tommy Bahama's fabric?
Looking great! And welcome to THE Bunny...

Now that I give The Bunny "up" on the Redskins thing. She will make fun of the fact that I said that she purchased "Tony Bahama" fabric...That's Tommy!
Yes we used the Tommy fabric....

The Bunny just came home with a new "70's" rug for the Old Girl, from Ross, Dress For Less. She said that the same rug was $30 at Wal-Mart... Ross $11.

Rex and The Bunny,
Was sorta wondering if you two every took a day off. Truly quality work!
Expecting up to 14 inches of snow tonight.
We have been working on some under the sink storage to keep the pots and pans from rolling around. Trying to get ready for our first long trip sometime mid March. Looking at New Orleans and somewhere on the Gulf coast.
Enjoy the weekend, we are dealing with a lot of unrest here in the state. The big guy isn't going to budge.

Wow! Wisconsin is looking more and more like the middle east! State employees vs. the Tea Party activists, crazy-crazy-crazy!
I am surprised that the protests hasn't started here....yet.
CalFire Empolyee's stay in motels when they are on fire assignments, and the rest of the firefighters stay in tents at firecamp.
As one of the "other" firefighters,...A long time ago, I asked one of my Calfire friends why they got motels and we get to sleep in the dirt.
He said, with a big smile on his over sized head, that his union got him, that right to a motel & shower. I never thought it was fair that "they" got motels, but a couple of years later, I realized that "life" isn't fair....is it?
Now, if I go on a fire, my trailer comes with me (I work in firecamp, not on the line anymore). On fire assignments, if you're not a member of the union, you're on your own, baby! You can sleep in the dirt, or bring your own sleeping arrangments.
On assignment now, at the end of a work shift, I say good-night to my CalFire buddies, who are driving over an hour from fire camp, just so they can sleep in a motel. I walk over to my home-away-home to enjoy a good night's sleep...and yes, I feel sorry for my good buddies from the "Red Army". And hope they don't fall asleep at the wheel and kill someone...Life really isn't fair...is it.

Today I will be cutting some 1/4" birch plywood to cover the wheel well on the street side. I am also looking for drawings/plans to build "diner Like" seating, with table on the street side where the twin bed was located. If anyone out there has built something like this...please post info here. Or send me a PM. "Share your ideas and our minds will follow." -trex 2/11-

I got the end panels and the two long panels cut out, fitted, and stained today. I'm using some of the leftover alum. as trim pieces for the wheel well cover.
The streetside wheel well will have three layers, the black ABC, the new replacement alum. interior wheel well, and now the 1/4" plywood finished cover. Plus two layers of insulation...
My original idea was to have the finished cover made from diamond plate. But, I think the birch plywood will have a softer look, and hopefully hold up under use. That area is going to be under the diner seating, so I may get alot of shoe marks on the birch wood...time will tell.

Finished the streetside wheel well today, using 1/4" birch plywood, recycled angle aluminum, and 1/8" pop rivets. I'm going to wait until I finish the diner seating and food pantry before I complete the trim. Photos of the wheel well, before and after, and The Bunny's newest surf sign....

Thanks Mr "Trainer of Personnel" (TOP), as you may have noticed in the early pages of this Thread, I had to replace the original interior wheel wells. I still need to replace the axles, so the new wheel wells will last more than a couple of years.
Once I get my new axles I will be a...

Whats the story on the axles?
