Sweet! I was waiting for the classic Clerks reference! 37? It's funny, our first trip up to NJ the secret stash and the quick stop were both places we had to visit!

Also found some really nice chrome moonies that will go on once the work is done.

This is a great thread. Love to see old airstream's resurrected from what would seem their final resting place. Good luck to you and keep the pic's coming.

I know the resto rod thing is kinda cool for cars, but never thought about it for Airstreams... i like the "rustic" look with the clean rims!
Man, you're dedicated! Best of luck, but it seems you've got the skills to pull this off!

Thanks guys!
I don't know the grade of steel in the factory AS but it took me forever to drill 0.5" holes in the frame. It was like drilling tool steel. The a36 c Chanel was easy in comparison.

Got very close to moving it I just ran out of light. I also discovered after laying under the trailer all day flailing my legs drilling holes that there were two alligators on the lake edge not twenty feet away.

Thanks AirSlide,
It was a happy moment seeing her out of the maze of trees and bamboo and in position for the flat bed truck to come get her to bring her home.
The park rangers were running around taking photographs for their park scrapbook.
Took a cold dip in the local spring and a hot shower in the ranger outdoor shower so the two hour trip home was a lot less crunchy
Its a nice park.. De Leon Springs FL
Im submitting this for the " creepy hatch " contest...
