New Owners '72 31' Sovereign

Greetings!

We just got a 1972 sovereign recently. I posted pictures in Member Introductions thread under same name as this one, should anyone be interested in seeing them.

We are newbies so any feedback/guidance you provide will be much appreciated.

I know there is a lot of expertise in these forums, and have been reading a ton. I hope to get some comments once that you have had a chance to see the few pictures.

Thank you!

Ps. Did I read somewhere that this trailer originally had a stove exhaust fan? Our stove does not look original, and no exhaust fan that I know of..

:-)

Look on the outside behind the door a little above the top of the windows and see if you have an aluminum cover about 10" to 12" square. If so this would be the exhaust vent when the fan is on it would open up. Now look in the overhead compartment above the stove and see if there is any sign of an exhaust fan / vent. I removed mine on my 1976 sovereign since it was so noisy. I now use the Fantastic vent in the ceiling if needed. Post some more pictures, we like pictures.

Thank you! I'll check that out! The AS is in storage now for the winter :-( I will see what other pictures I have that weren't posted and will post them. :-) Mary

Ah ha! Is that the vent?
So much to learn! Wow

Welcome! We too have a '72 31 ft Sovereign, which we are redoing. You are close, so if you need some help, send a PM and we'll be happy to pop over!

The one just below the awning is probably the vent cover. Doesn't meant the actual exhaust vent fan is still there above the stove. Nice looking Airstream, the body looks good. It looks like the old clear coat may have been removed. You have the original Armstrong AC. Does it still work. These can still be serviced if you can find someone who works on old Air Conditioners.

Thank you!
The AC works.
The only thing that we have not tested is the water heater; PO used it earlier this summer - I trust his word and hope that it will still work in the spring :-)
I am ok with the AS not looking shiny; is the lack of clear coat an issue?
Thanks,
Mary

Thank you, Kay!
I've read the little Girl Reburb thread - wow! You guys have done a great job!

I hope that you will visit us at the Airstream Park in the spring! Can we trade dinner/drinks for some tips? :-)

I'm hoping for a mild and short winter!!
:-)
