The original axle was a Henshen. As Dexter makes a lot of different axles, with a Dexter you have to decide #10 or #11 axle, weight rating, mounting bracket orientation, etc. when ordering rather than a part number.
The easiest, but maybe not the cheapest way, would be to give Andy from Inland RV a call with your Airstream VIN and let him do the ordering for you.

Phone Colin Hyde, he has web site also on forums, give him info that he asks for. He sells axis axles, they are strait bolt up your yr. AS no mods or welding as many will attest to after pur. axles from him, just remember to put shocks on axle before raising in place. lots closer than Andy as fact. in Indiana.

Awesome. Thank you. Yea I just don't want to pay double for shipping because I'm in WI and not the west coast.

I got my new axles from Colin Hyde. Have you VIN number handy when you call him. I don't think he carries the Airstream horizontal shocks that you will need. My order to arrival time was about 6 weeks. Mine were 3000 pound rated and came with 6 bolt 10" drums in stead of twelve. Perfectly adequate for a 4500 pound Airstream.

I'm not trying to push any brand of axles. I called Andy for a price and found out that they have 20 different places in the USA to drop ship to at no shipping cost. It just happened that I don't live but about 10 miles from one of them in Springfield Mo. so I bought the dexter axles from Andy. You might see if you are close to one of them.

I'm near Milwaukee,WI. I called Andy and he said they would be $679/axle + freight shipping (unsure of that cost). I'm going to try and order them through a local trailer dealer. I just know it will be difficult to order and will need all the exact specs of the axles.
Would airstream have all the exact specs?

Andy will have the specs you need, but your 31' had 3200# axles, do yourself a favor and go to 3500# and maybe even increase the down angle to 32°.

Thanks Greg. Yea I saw that they are 3200lb axles. I also have read a lot about people complaining about dragging in parking lots and wanting to switch to 16" rims to help with the issue. I really wanted to keep the original look so I had all 4 rims media blasted and repainted and will be polishing all of the hubcaps. So new axles are in need and I would rather do it once and right.

Increasing the down angle of the torsion arms to 32 degrees as mentioned above would also give you more clearance.
