And so it begins!

We started work on our newly acquired 1972 Sovereign today! She came to us with everything mostly demoed so today was all about getting it cleaned out and deciding what we need to keep versus what we needs to head to the dump. Next up removing the toilet and hot water heater and building a gantry to get the shell off to replace the subfloor.

Very excited to learn from the expertise that's all over the forum!

Welcome. Youíve got a lot of trailer. We bought our 66 years ago and it had all the interior laying loose on the floor and in boxes. Had no idea what some things were much less where they went. Youíll enjoy the renovation journey. Donít throw anything away unless youíre absolutely sure it wonít be needed to reinstall or as a pattern. Good luck and keep us updated.

There is a lot of info on lifting the shell off the frame, but I will tell you that you need to make sure you brace the shell from the inside in every direction before you lift it off the frame if you want to get it back on there without too much trouble, and second, get the shell back on the ground and strapped down once its off the frame or the wind will blow it over and it will be full of dents. Take your time and read all the info you can before each phase. Have fun!
