Replacing front gaucho couch

Currently have "stock" convertible couch, with under couch drawer, in the front of my 31' 1998 Excella 1000, but would like to replace (uncomfortable seating). Problems are the two battery housings and a newly installed inverter/converter plus wire and cables that are in the area. Current frame of couch fits over components. Thought about having cabinet maker build a cabinet to fit under front windows to hide components underneath with cabinets for storage above, then using Euro-style chairs w/ottomans. But that potentially moves the chairs further into where the fold-down tables are located and be crowded. OR if someone has a replacement couch that will fit over the battery housings and inverter/converter, etc. I would consider that. Looking for what has worked for you. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Replacing with banquet

You bring up a great point with the less functional council in the front. One of the first things I did when I started renovated my 98 Excella 1000 was remove that couch and the tables. I worked with a local carpenter to build a u shaped banquet that curves around the back of the trailer. We created a stand off distance from the back to cover the battery box and relocated the battery shut off switch to the inside of a cabinet. I wanted this new area to function both as a work and dining area but also as a sleeping area. The center table (not in picture) comes down on a pedestal to create a bed. This system is not all too unique. One thing we did that’s different is build a TV into the backrest of one of the benches on an electric lift. See attached photos:

Thanks for sharing. Gives me something to think about that I had not considered. Presume there are cushions that fit on the benches/table and are used for the bed. I have seen similar designs. Looks great.

Here is what I did. My trailer only had the one flip up table at the door and it is blocked about an inch or two by the loveseat. I plan to put the table on a drawer slide so it can slide forward about 2 inches to lift up but haven’t worked out the details yet.

The roadside recliner will only open to the first position with the footrest slanted unless the slide is out. It took some careful measuring to be sure it would open fully with the slide out
