1996 OriginalExcella 34

Two months ago I bought a sit unseen 96 Execlla 34. After driving 2600 mile to get it home I was not expecting what I had bought!
The plan was to do a remodel . What I had bought was a time capsule from 1996
Just without the plastic on the floor and seats , and minus the Partridge Family.
So what do I do ? Keep it as is and enjoy it . Or do a remodel like I had planned
Please share your thoughts

Thanks Marvindog

I wouldn’t touch a thing until I had spent about 30 nights in it. Get a feel for what you like and don’t like, what works, what doesn’t, what could work better.

Then do a project or two as time and money allows. If it is watertight, then systems upgrades — better converter, audio/visual, cell antenna/booster.

If it isn’t watertight, get on that right away.

Enjoy it some before even thinking about pulling it apart.

My 2 cents

What n2916s says!

That looks darn good. Service and fix what’s broke and enjoy.

If it *actually* looked Partridge Family era I would say don't touch it, but you're off by about thirty years, so I'm all for making a big change. That said... do you want to camp *now?* I think a lot of people have dreams of camping during restorations, but the reality is that restoring and using are difficult to make work together (I've been doing it on my "case study" Airstream for around five years). If I were you, I'd do as others have suggested and camp a while, then start thinking about what you want to change and how you can make that happen. I personally can't stand oak or "traditional" looking cabinets, and 90's Airstreams are the worst in that regard. Just be aware that whatever you do will almost certainly take more time and money than you expect!

I love the oak. I wouldn't change a thing.

Marvindog, the OP, hasn't posted anything since July 2021. It would be interesting to know if they've started upgrading items one by one or decided on some version of a Full Monte. 34' is a bit long for us but that sure looks like a nice trailer.

Got a cooped-up feeling, gotta get out of town, got those Airstream campin' blues...
