Looking at an Excella

Hi, newby looking at a 1977 Excella 500 for my mom in law. It doesn't look to have any rear bow/bend in it. The asking price is $2500, and it needs new tires, and much work inside. It will be towed to her son's house to be parked and fixed up to live in, not driven.
I'd like to know if the toilet or shower can be used, and what we need to do to drain it, or use it parked.

Here are some pictures of the inside and outside. I couldn't see the under carriage, so no clue what condition that is in. Closets are dusty but good, and the rear beds have a piece of plywood over them to make a bed
There is a new A/C in the cieling, but not wired.

Any comments would be greatful. Thanks!
Pete

You're not kidding it needs some work!

But first: do you have a place to put it? I mean, you need to plan to have a proper licensed camp site with hookups for fresh water, sewage, electricity, and the usual things like phone, cable, and so on.

I say this because sometimes, folks think that they can just hook it up in their back yard and move in. I know of no municipalities that allow this.

In many places you can store it on your property, but you cannot live in it. There's a big difference, and you won't like the consequences when you get caught if you try doing it. Check with the city, you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'd steer clear of this one and look for something in better shape. The photo indicates the trailer has the excella-vac brake system. (shroud behind propane tanks) If this is the case, you won't be able to tow it anywhere unless you go without brakes.

If it were closer to Dallas, I would be interested in it. Granted I already am familiar with the model and I prefer the mid bath. My main question is if the fridge/AC both work. Also consider that I would do all of the work myself and that is what I enjoy. For most the fun is camping, I think I prefer the journey more.
