A word of advice, while they are definitely doing better and "upping their game" these days, don't put a whole lot of trust into the site you linked. They have a long history of serious, serious issues.
Ok that's good to know. Need to add some more clecos to my order then.

Yeah... the copper colored 1/8" clecos are only good for trim strips and interior skins.

Still should get some good use out of them so gad they're ordered anyways! This is why I'm happy to be on the forums.

Oh, yeah... like I wrote earlier, you will NEVER have enough clecos. Those 1/8"'s will get tons of use once you start the inside.

Aluminum for the patches arrived!

First panel too. Edges got a little banged up from shipping but overall, am pretty happy.

No. Her first husband (now deceased) was a mechanic for American Airlines.

Outside of slapping a stamp directly on the panel, that looks to be the bare minimum one could do for packing, no?

Basically it was wrapped in that carboard paper and that was it. The box was labeled as "aircraft parts" so it was treated nicely at least lmao.

Labeling it as aircraft parts just meant that every package handler tried to make the box fly.

Spent the day today popping out drilled rivets. Tomorrow will be the same thing

One of the local RV dealers had an Airstream come in. I wanted to go check it out to get some ideas for mine and I'm glad I did... it's almost the exact layout I'm going for.

Turns out it's also a special edition. Norman Rockwell which is only 1 of 50 after doing some research.

But I love the rear bed & mid bath.

Body work has officially started. First panel removed.

UNREAL how many holes they put in these panels.

After holding up the new panel, it's curved perfectly and I have enough overlap to trim the holes off the top panel and cover the ones at the bottom.

This POS is now my testing piece for buck rivets and cutting.

Using a torch and a paint scraper made pretty quick work of the silicone and adhesive that was used.

You've got TremPro for putting things back together, right?

Here's a post I did on all the different types of goo for sealing things up:

TremPro is on order for the panels. In my infinite wisdom I never ordered any

Tomorrow I will be mocking the panel in to place and hanging it but will not be riveting in to place until I get the sealant.

Haven't forgotten about this and ready to hop back on the project. Was down with the virus for a while.

Anyways, played with the buck rivets for a good few hours getting familiar with it. We had quite a few test pieces that we tried all the various rivet sizes on and also different lengths to see how they'd react.

We also intentionally fudged them up to see and feel what that's like.

One of the many test pieces.

After that was complete, we went in and secured the front tie-down plate to the shell. The ribbing behind had to be re-attached as well.

Beyond that, started filling all the various holes with rivets. It sure has gained it's name "Patches".

Ordered and received my leveling jacks. I may add that third set right in front or right behind the wheels for a little more stability. Who knows. We'll see.
