window rivets

I'm rebuilding the windows on my 72 ambassador. do I need to use tubular rivets for hinge and splices? can I buck rivet instead?

Yes you can use solid rivets (buck). Riveting the hinge on will require MS20470A-4-X rivets. if you countersink the back side where the bucktail forms then the bucktail will form into the countersink. You can then sand the bucktails flush. The seal will now set flush to the frame and the window will not bind up on the protruding bucktails like the stock ones do.

If you did not oblong the the holes on the window frame splices then you will need to use MS20470AD3-X rivets. if the holes are over sized then substitute the 3 with a 4 on the P/N. X=rivet length in 1/16" increments.

Somewhere near the end of my thread listed below are pictures of replacing the hinge rivets.
