Window fastening replacement

The windows in my Excella are attached by 70 self-tapping screws, the points of which protrude into the outer window channelling. This area collects condensation and dirt, and requires cleaning from the outside. I have snagged my knuckles on these 70 points just one time too often, and any cleaning cloth or brush gets caught on the points. I have replaced the screws with stainless steel bolts, 3/4 inch long, 8 gauge. The cheapest way was to buy boxes of 100 bolts, washers and nuts, for a total of just under $10. Nick.
