Want to install CCD style bathroom door window
I am new to the forum so please excuse me if this topic has been discussed before. I just bought a 2007 19ft Safari SE and want to install the oblong portal bathroom door window that is offered on the CCD's. Can this window be sourced from the supplier to A/S or does it have to be purchased from them with the usual markup?
I would also be interested in a salvage part if anybody knows of any late model A/S's being parted out. Any info or input would be appreciated.
Thanks
TVK

Need CCD bathroom window
Tvankirk, I have the same goal: install the CCD riveted window in my 2007 Bambi SE's bathroom door. I chose the SE because I preferred the cabinetry of the straight Bambi, coupled with the interior aluminum skin and CCD exterior windows. Anyone know where we can obtain the window fixture, and approximately the cost of installation?

I belive that any dealer could get the window assembly part if there such a beast....or the door in general. The factory would have the needed part numbers.
Keep in mind that the door is NOT a solid core door. There are many voids within it. I don't know if the door with the window in it is any different or what it may or may not mean, but for sure the factory would know.
I myself would love to add the new door handle to mine!

Sticker shock!
I asked my local airstream repair/maintenance source, C & G Trailers in Bellflower, CA, and they said to install a ROUND portal window (like those found in the 75th Anniversary Safari) would run about $575. Wow. I might want to install a inverter/converter and some other stuff before I spend the bucks on a window for the bathroom door. I already have a Honda 2000 genset; any suggestions for the next bit of "essential" equipment for a confirmed boondocker?

Info on bathroom door window
As a follow up, I did purchase the window and installed it myself. I special ordered the window from the factory for under $200.00 via Oasis Airstream in Tuscan, AZ. The dealer said both the oblong and circular window are available. As another poster pointed out a cross member is located in the door core but a jig saw cut through it with no problem. We have since sold the Airstream here on the foreum. I have attached a picture that shows the window installed.

CCD style bathroom window installation
I saw this post and decided to give a try at installing a ccd style bathroom door window in my 2006 safari. I ordered the parts from Airstream through Out of Doors Mart Out-of-Doors Mart in North Carolina. (Very easy to deal with on airstream parts). I actually called the airstream factory in Ohio and they were very helpful in giving me advice on how they install the windows in the factory. I installed the window in my bathroom door this past weekend and wanted to post some pictures of the installation.

Hi, Nice job on the window. Can you tell me the part number for the oblong window? Also, my wife likes the bed cover. Is that original or did you make/have it made?

I did a Google search and found this thread on the forum. I had previously posted the same inquiry as my wife would very much like a window installed in the door of our new '16 Flying Cloud FB. The install pictures make it look very easy to do. Considering the date of the last post on this thread, I was wondering if there had been any new revelations about the install since 2012. I will definitely be asking if our dealer can order the window unit for us from Airstream.

Recent Window Install
Put one in my Bambi just before Christmas. Not a big deal to do and makes a striking difference, IMO. Photo shows temp mounting on the backside. Final install was done with double sided foam tape. Front with SS pan head screws.
Order it up, you'll like it...........

I bought the same window ($140) and trim ($40) from Airstream Supply last July but decided to use a different window instead. They are brand new (window still has the protective film) if you want to make me an offer?

Interesting, I finally got two part numbers from Airstream for the window parts and am waiting on a price from dealer. Is your window from Airstream and does it match the pictures in the thread?

BTW, the Airstream part number for the glass and frame is #371438.
The inside white bezel is #203761-02. Install looks easy-peazy.

The ones I have are exactly the same as tinbenders post, and your part numbers. The ones used earlier in the thread are not the correct trim (they used a trim from an 18" stack window). I ordered from Airstream Supply Company but they were drop shipped direct from Jackson Center to my house.
I preferred a round port-hole style and sourced a cast aluminum window from a marine salvage dealer in India!

The porthole one looks very good. It's amazing what you can source on the internet. I called my dealer because I also had a rock guard coming from Airstream (as a warranty item from the original ship to dealer), so he was able to package the window and rock guard together.
If someone wanted your spare window, I would jump on it because they really improve the light in the bathroom on FB's.

Question for those that have done this mod. Is the metal and glass front piece thin enough that you could use a second one on the back of the door in place of the plastic trim. If so it would create hollow space to allow the frosted glass to be back lite.
