Side window replacement1970 Globetrotter

Hello,
I am replacing a shattered side window on my Globertrotter (thank you neighbor.) I ordered the frame with glass which was drop shipped from Airstream.

The replacement window frame is slightly more curved than the body and there is 3/8" gap on the sides. My question, did I receive a defective window, or is this a common issue? I don't think I can flatten the frame without breaking the glass. Should I give up on glass and put acrylic/Lexan in the old frame?

Thank you for your input.
