rear storage compartments leak

left and right and rear storage compartments are getting water in them...ive caulked all seams, lights, etc.....it seems water is seeping around the doors....any suggestions what to look for??2003 safari 25ft....driving me crazy

the short answer is the water could be coming from anywhere. It comes in one place, travels along the trailer, and then shows up somewhere else. With a 2003, if you haven't resealed all exterior seams, windows, and lights, that would be one place to start.

Good luck - finding the source of a leak can be frustrating. But if you keep sealing items, the worse you can do is re-seal a seal that is OK. With persistence you will seal the leaking one.

A good place to start looking is the awning support arm brackets and the rivets and/or screws that attachment the brackets to the trailer. The awnings function as a drain gutter for the water on the roof, channeling it toward the ends and flowing profusely over anything below the awning ends. The support brackets are there, windows may be, and the compartment hatches may be getting some as well. If raining hard it could be coming in from the top of the hatch and overflowing the rim behind the seal.

The door typically isn't the cause, imo, because of the large flange on the inside lip. In mine, I found leaks at the license plate pocket, the lower rub rail, rear awning mounts (both upper and lower), rear window awning rail. I have the street side cured, but the curb side keeps reappearing periodically and intermittently. It's so slight, that I fear may not find it. This year, it only appears when melting snow traps water beneath it's blanket.....giving me the clue that it's up top somewhere.

Sometimes apparent leaks can be from condensation inside a storage compartment or interior wall surface, in cold weather and the trailer being heated without enough ventilation. Probably not the case here, but we've seen it in ours.

While installing new hardwood flooring in our 2008 we discovered some bad water damage. We'd have never known if we hadn't had the rear corner bed removed for the flooring install - the water damage was hidden under the bed, vinyl and metal storage compartment flooring. It's been leaking for several years. There was a nice size hole in the floor as the ply had completely decayed...

Leak is coming from the back somewhere - likely up high. We put a high pressure washer on the rear access door but that is not the source. $8k to remove the shower, toilet, remove some interior skin, find leak, repair damage (retrofit new plywood flooring in the back), etc... Well... Cheaper than buying a new trailer, glad we could it before more damage occurred.

Just to close the loop here was the source of my leak: The leak was coming from behind the lower rub rail. The seam was not sealed correctly from the factory where the belly wrap and the body segment meet. The edge of the sub-floor was able to absorb all water that was coming down from the side of the unit as well as any water tat pooled up on the bumper storage area in the rear. The team at timeless travel trailers removed the rub rail and sealed the area completely. The plywood flooring in the rear of the trailer was completely replaced. (Which of course required the removal of the rear corner shower, toilet, bed, etc.

Should be good to go now after the trailer had been leaking for.... 8 years or so.
