Plastic window lever tightening

Team AS,

How does one tighten the plastic finger holders on the end of the metal window raising rods? There appears to be a threaded insert in mine, but I have no idea how I adjust them so they grip the rod tighter.

Help!

They usually tighten with an Allen screw. I filed a small flat on the rod to help it keep from turning.

Or sand and epoxy the sucker.

I spoke with Jackson center and when I asked how to solve my problem they indicated that I "could always order new plastic tabs". I believe that I'll try the silicone adhesive approach. Thanks to all for the feedback on and off site.

Fair winds,

None of mine have set screws in them. Other threads indicate AS stopped using set screws. Crazy. A lot of hardware stores should carry set screws. Buy a set of Allen wrenches, take a knob down and trial fit some screws. Mine aren't falling off but I'm going to add another item to my "Make my AS Perfect" list.
