Interior window frame (sink) question

Does anyone know what these slots are for? I attached a picture. I would like to be able to lock my window open on the lowest setting and was wondering if anyone has done that and used these slots. It just gets so hot in my little metal box during the day while I'm at work.

Yep! My '73 Globetrotter had the same slots. There is a roll-down blind that mounts at the top of that plastic window frame, and the slots provide places for the roll down shade to latch into so that you can vary the amount of light/visibility at that window.

There should be some plastic slotty things that are on a much smaller scale, that mount directly to the metal interior frame of the window. Look at your other windows, as they may be hidden by the interior plastic frame on this window. These are the things that you will use to hold your windows open at various levels, using those chromed knobs that are on the rods that lift the window outward. The original ones were probably white, and tend to get brittle and break. You can still buy new versions of these that are black.

good luck!

Thank you! I got my Airstream used and I guess it was missing the roll down shade. However, mystery solved! So, thanks!
