Bargman L200 door handle won’t lock.

Hello there I have an older rv and the door knob/handle will not lock. It’s been loose for a while and has had a hard time shutting and such so I finally took of inside handle plate and put back on and tightened up everything and now it latches great, but inside handle won’t turn down to unlock/open door and I cannot lock with key on outside with the knob. I’m wondering if I can take this apart/clean and put back together and is there anything I need to worry about?

You have a vintage part that is no longer made . If you can find a good used one they are made of unattainium .
