where to find a stainless steel shower pan
im building a bathroom from scratch and would really like to use a stainless steel shower pan. ive seen plenty of pictures of custom restorations but when I google search for a stainless pan I have very few options. im not bound to any specific measurements since I have a gutted trailer at this time. so where are people finding these?

Most likely need a metal fabricator to make one for you.

Growth challenge for you: If you're attempting a trailer gut, you are probably quite handy around tools. Study up, buy a welder, make your own stainless pan. You can weld stainless with SMAW stick with stainless rods but it will stain, if you're worried about the stain then you might want to study up on a process that has an inert gas to keep the air off the stainless while you are welding.
In the end you'll have a new trick in your bag, and something you built. And perhaps cheaper than farming it out even. Preheat is good, and let it cool slowly.

Amazon has a Kohler pan listed.
Vary your searches to more commercial or restaurant direction and that may get you better results.

You'll not likely weld thin gauge stainless steel successfully using the SMAW process as the heat input is too high and significant warpage (which is a constant issue with stainless) will occur. A better option would be GTAW, or possibly GMAW-S, however the equipment costs for these processes are a bit higher.
The "stain" is oxidation caused by the welding heat input. This can usually be removed with by passivation, or a pickling paste.
Unless you're skilled in metal fabrication, I'd sub this to a capable fabricator if an off the shelf unit is not an an option.
Regards,
Kevin

Ctaulborg has a similar problem. Looks like he's going to get a custom pan from Hoffman. See the bottom of post #29 in this thread:

Not an expert but SS does stain, which means rust. The first S stands for stainLESS not stain-not. We had to remove rust from SS year round on our sailboat. Would an alternative material in the plastic family do the trick and work better/longer? Like the pans in our homes showers.
